I don't feel any hatred towards Argentina. I just find them outright boring, and Germany more deserving of the title.
I really don't think the hatred for Argentina is justified. They DO have other players that have delivered such as Garay, Romero, Mascherano, among others. In fact, Messi really hasn't contributed a massive amount since the group stages have come and gone.
With that said, I do want Germany to win.
You're right, of course. The problem is that boring games don't sell football. I'm not blaming Argentina. I'm saying they need to do something to end these goalless games.A footballer's job is not to entertain. It's not professional wrestling where the outcome is pre-determined, so their job is to win the game, playing within the rules of course.
Argentina won the game and played within the rules. They satisfied their criteria.

Someone winning is not the criteria of a neutral football fan. It's the right of someone to dislike boring football.
By the way, Cillessen was terrible at penalties. That last penalty was cringeworthy. No wonder they brought in Krul in the Quarter Finals.
Rooting for Deutshcland Sunday
That match was not as good as the Blitzkrieg of Belo Horizonte.
At the end Van Persie really couldn't go on playing or at least he wasn't able to receive the ball well/participate in attacks. He had been sick for a few days and apparently wasn't that fit yet. Van Gaal also wanted to win the match before penalties came. That's why he brought Huntelaar (and therefore Krul was not possible). The last two Argentine penalties would likely have been saved had Krul been in goal again for the penalties. Dunno why Van Gaal didn't do the same as in the last game.
