2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

Wow, that match was really, really bad. The di Maria, who was appalling throughout the match, wins it for Argentina right at the end. No surprise that it took Messi to unlock the Swiss defence though.

Hopefully the next match is actually good and doesn't go to extra time.

I like Belgium as a team, but they played boring football so far. There's still time for them to redeem themselves, and of course I'd like them to get to the semifinals more than the other teams on that side of the draw.

We could spend them by posting more Suarez jokes.

Rooting for the US as well! This is the second time the US has reached the knock out stage in the WC, they're a real contender. If The USA can make it further than this game it would be huge for football in the US and overseas! They have as good as a chance than Belgium right now I think!

Football is one of the few elements of world culture that the Americans haven't taken into possession, dumbed down and sold back to the world as their own invention. It would be terrible for world football to become Hollywoodised and turned into "soccer".

There is literally no danger of that happening. What would happen is a little more money put into the sport and a lot more high-level players from North America.

Go, ask an Englishman, a Spaniard, an Italian or a German if there's not enough money in the sport.

Nah I don't agree with that @Perun , football in the US will never be as big as it is in Europe even if they win it all, but it could perhaps change the views of football for some people in the US for the better.

I meant in North America. This is an empty spot for football, and I'd like to see that change somewhat.
