2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil

If that's what works, why the hell not? I guess I just think there's very little respect for the game in the USA especially, and somewhat in Canada. I'd love to see there being a lot more.
 
I don't know....but I like to see the US do well at euro football because hopefully it will also teach kids and adults a like about Geography, History and Culture And perhaps in the long run gain some acceptance in the US sports landscape!! Go USA!

I guess here's how I look at it: the top level here is MLS, and they have a small salary cap, with up to three designated players allowed. That's why each team has one or two big superstars, usually near-retirement Euro players like Beckham was, like Thierry Henry is, Jermain Defoe, etc. Like only 6 or 7 of these "superstars" are American. None are Canadian. We need to change that.
 
I have American friends who have told me that their kids at school are having World Cup topics in classes etc and that the kids are learning about the teams and cultures etc!

The USA is getting better as the game goes on. Belgium are clearly the more talented team, but the USA has a good ethic.

No it isn't. It's the 5th time. USA reached the knock out stage so far 5 times: 1930, 1994, 2002, 2010 and now.

Actually USA finished 3rd position (better overall perfomance than Jugoslavia; there was no 3rd place game) in the very first World Cup.
 
Belgium are finally playing the kind of football I expected from them. Too bad Tim Howard is saving the day for US.
 
Feels like we've overdosed on overtime in this round, but alright, it's been a great game, I can watch some more.
