News 18th Studio Album discussion

I can't see any evidence of an album already being recorded, and don't really see any obvious time that they could have recorded in secret.

If there's any chance of a new album it's going to be recorded 2027 onwards.
Thats what i think, any hint of kevin bruce steve being im the same city. If they record any other album could be in 2027 but i see another new theme tour for 2 more years.

Personally, I think they’ll record it in 2027. The late timeframe Bruce mentioned for his solo tour is very suspicious.

However, I don’t think we can rule out that the album has already been recorded just because there’s no evidence.
It wouldn’t be such an impossibility to do everything in secret without leaving any evidence, if they were determined to do so.

In the liner notes/the booklet for Senjutsu. In the final pages where stuff like all their business partners and equipment are listed, there are also the parts where each member thanks their friends, family and pets. Steve, on Senjutsu specifically, thanked every former member of Maiden.
Well almost... Just took a look and indeed, never noticed that before. Dunno what to think of that. You take it as a hint Steve wanted to call it a day after Senjutsu?
Couldn't find Paul Di Anno in Steve's list tho.

I have always said and wished that they could just write and record as many songs as they could, without touring the songs just so us fans have something to listen to while the boys are doing other things than Maiden stuff.

5 & 6 years is a long time to wait!

They could easily do a double album.
Steve : 5 songs
Janick : 3 / 4 songs
H : 4 songs
Bruce : 3 songs
Davey : 2 / 3 songs
And a couple of songs together.
With no obligation to tour or anything. Steve has acknowledged that he knows we will go out and buy anything they put out, so, hook us up! :)

...he might cave to Bruce wanting to record a new Maiden album in that time.
That's what I hope so. Everyone to use Bruce's enthusiasm.
Do you think Steve is telling the truth? How could he have been outvoted? Wouldn't Simon want to work for Maiden and make money? Steve, Bruce, and likely Adrian don't want to take a break either.
Good calls, but: ''It looks like we’re taking next year off. Personally, I didn’t want to, but that’s me. I’m just one of six people, despite what people might think. They don’t just all do as they’re told. Otherwise we’d be doing stuff next year, too.''

I don't feel he's keeping everything in secret this time, even Nicko, although knowing them, we shouldn't believe everything they say in interviews.
Also, they will return in 2028 with tour as they said, they gotta promote something, doing another hita tour or return with 2nd part of 50th anniversary tour (53th now) wouldn't make sense to me. Especially that last fully album tour was TBOS - over 10 years ago at that point (FPT was a hybrid still). So my prediction is that in 2027 we're getting #18 for which they have I believe already written and possibly recorded songs. In worst case scenario, 2027 we will get album announced for early 2028, but for sure 2026 will be the last year in which we have no clue about new album.
It's possible, why not. They key is how much of the leftover ''ready'' material from 2019 they would use. So mostly the recordings left.
And I've always said what makes the most sense would be to do another hybrid tour next, which would be RFYL Pt. 2, covering The X Factor up to Album 18 (which would feature the most heavily, though encores I could see being the usuals...Trooper, etc.). Simply covering The X Factor to Senjutsu would be a much harder sell than the slam dunk that RFYL is.

It's true that there was no hoopla in announcing the recording of new albums the last two times, though there was a lot of fan submitted evidence suggesting the 2019 recording of what would turn out to be Senjutsu. I hope that's the case this time, though Steve did seem unusually candid about his struggles with even the idea of working on a new album in that infamous interview where he talked about stress, etc. If that was part of pulling the wool over our eyes, then bravo, sir. Again, I hope you're right and that this one too was done in secret, or at least they're planning on doing a new one in secret this year.
Good idea, this way they can combine 2/3 tour ideas into one and play more rare songs.

This.
My view is that the band will either reconvene in 2027 to record an album and do a 'regular' tour in 2028, or if that is not the case then we are essentially seeing a soft winding down of the band, no new music, and a far smaller slate of tour dates based around stadiums and large outdoor venues exclusively for a few more years until they call it a day. Unfortunately at the moment my thoughts are tending towards the latter option.
It seems like recording new music isn't a priority for them now (who would have thought), but how could they come up with different and interesting concepts for tours. More hybrids? We need that screen big BNW Eddie!
confirmation that they are not doing anything in 2027 which would make no sense if they already have an album in the bag as why would they keep it until 2028 at the earliest?
Not doing anything next year could be a lie, or they just don't know yet. Why not a good part of the material to be already written in advanced forms to be recorded next year? Or they want fresh ideas, not some of the 2019 ones. 2027 is our best bet anyway, especially if Bruce's solo tour is only in the fall (or if it starts in May).
Looks like there could be a window open for recording a new album in the summer of 2027 if they want to. Bruce's new album is probably out in the spring, and he has only mentioned touring plans for November and December 2027, so there is a big gap in between which could be for Maiden. Maybe this is what they will discuss when rehearsals start? If they have one more album in them or not.
^This is very likely.
Bruce said "retirement sucks" in his Senjutsu notes. So if it does turn out to be the last album we can't say the signs weren't there.
He added it in his latest solo album notes, but that was in 2024, maybe by retirement he meant no new music forward? Wow. I hope not.
it seems that going to studio record and then wait for the album to be out and then tour is a lot of time.
2-3 months in 6 years is a lot of time? The tours won't get any longer, despite this year's. Committing 2 years for a new album tour is probably what bothers them now, instead of touring more freely with the new stage and shorter(?) run of dates.
