News 18th Studio Album discussion

We don't really need anything, if they do a new album or they don't, it's what will be, will be. Having a pointless debate about it doesn't serve any purpose.
That was in essence the point. Reading lack of outright evidence to the contrary as an argument for "they will make a new album" is pointless. If it happens, it happens, but we aren't really seeing indicators of that. For all we know, they could announce a final show in 2028 and hang it up after contemplating the future post rfyl-tour in 2027.

I prefer Maiden saying goodbye at their prime, than continuing their career at any cost, even when their popularity fades, and they play small arenas again. It's better to end history on fire!

Why not discuss it, speculate, and see if we've interpreted the clues correctly?

Nicko could imagine recording a few tracks for the next album, as he mentioned in this recent interview.

Thanks for sharing. Nicko pretty much confirms that the Senjutsu tour would have gone over 2021 and 2022 if the pandemic hadn’t come along. I am still convinced they would have put TWOTW in the setlist for the LOTB 2020 tour. Senjutsu would have come out on September 2020 after the tour.

Also, now we know that at least Bruce is in favor of doing one more Iron Maiden album. As for the others, we already know what Steve has said-there doesn’t seem to be much enthusiasm on his side. I’d guess Adrian and Janick would be on board with the idea as well.

From Nicko's Blabbermouth interview:
"McBrain also talked about the possibility of MAIDEN making another studio album and the likelihood of him appearing on it. Nicko said: "Watch this space. That's a question mark. And I can't answer it, because I don't know. I did speak to Bruce [Dickinson, MAIDEN singer] — in December I [appeared at] a Monsterpalooza [convention] with him in California. And I said to him, 'Do you wanna do another record?' 'What do you think", he said, 'cause he is the baby of the band. He's got that baby gene in him. Look, he's just been in a studio and finished a new album, solo album, after 'The Mandrake Project'. But he said he wanted to do one, but he didn't know if anybody else wanted to. So that could change. That was three months ago. They obviously still talk to one another, and I don't see why not. And if they do, I would be delighted to go in and do a couple of tracks. I don't think I would do the whole album because [of] my handicap [following my stroke]."
