18th Studio Album discussion

If this announcement isn't a subtle way of anticipating the band's retirement at the end of the RFYL World Tour (I confess I have that fear), it should indeed indicate a new album to be recorded and released in 2027. Hopefully, that's the way it goes. With more time for writing, recording, and producing, as well as Simon on drums (Nicko won't be back, unfortunately), we might get a very different album from the last few.

Bruce has suggested to make a new album, with Simon on the drums, but Steve seems to be unsure. I guess it all depends on what he wants.

That’s the impression I get, that making albums is more than before a real burden for Steve. He said something along those lines regarding Book of Souls as a I recall. Whereas live is the fun bit it seems.

I think he also said Maiden had no plans after TFP and a few weeks or months later RFYL was announced, plus book plus documentary.

But yeah, at some point 'no plans' will actually mean no plans.
