Maybe the apple by the river is a reference to the forbidden fruit i.e. Adam and Eve. The choice was between Heaven and Hell.
Maiden are having lots of fun with this especially Bruce.
If we dig deeper into the Wonders of the World concept there are seven classic wonders. They also include The Great Pyramid of Giza and the Colossus of Rhodes.
It's a rich vein of subject matter
Ok....I have been wongering away on the web and the Tower of Babel came up as an historical Wonder of the World.
Obviously this links in with the Gardens of Babylon and WOTW theme.
I thinks that's the link to Babel.
There's too much smoke around the Maiden camp for this to be Bruce solo album. 15th July and everything will become clearer. The smoke will clear then.
I'm going for a Maiden double album with Tower of Babel as the title. Possibly a concept album or at least a strong Babylonian theme with...
Very true.
Although there were a particular set of circumstances that led to that album title. Bruce was being mischievous (again) and was trolling the media especially. Steve had previously stated that they would stop at 15 albums or something like that.
We have two weeks of this to look forward to. The whole thing reminds me of TROBB hype prior to it's release. It's much more comprehensive this time though. Our brains are going to be melted
Just did a random internet search for WOTW and War of the Worlds came up.
Obviously that's a H.G Wells novel which has subsequently been made into a musical opus by Jeff Wayne.
Maybe it's a song or album title that is original to Maiden. It could be anything.
The WOTW theme seems to be very prevalent however I would be surprised if Maiden used The Writings on the Wall as an album or single title.
It has been used by a number of other artists before and doesn't seem very Maidenish.
Maybe WOTW means something else?
Just completed 500 piece Somewhere in Time album cover puzzle today. Good fun. Also have Powerslave puzzle and have framed both of them
Going to get the rest of them at some point. I think there are 8 in total. SSOASS is going to be a challenge.
Have every UK vinyl and CD release they have released since 1980. Sometimes even buy numerous copies of their singles which is a bit sad. There are a couple of box sets which I don't have such as Eddie's Head. My favourite is probably Killers picture disc which is class.
Most recent addition...
The X Factor is easily Maidens heaviest album. When I first heard it in 95 it took me a couple of weeks to really appreciate it. I can honestly say that those Blaze years were a very productive time for Maiden and a number of amazing songs came from that era.
Dark times equal dark music and...
Obviously Brucie is irreplaceable. If I had to choose it would have to be Blaze.
His Infinite Entanglement trilogy is immense. I know he can't really sing a lot of the classics very well but any new Maiden material would be very direct, melodic and heavy. Blaze is also a great bloke and very...
Chose new album. Looking for a mix of short songs and epics. Would like to see Maiden go a bit heavier and darker but any new music from Maiden is always a treasure
I still play LOTB game regularly. I have a 5 star Tailgunner Eddie level 100. He's pretty OP. Finding it hard to get Breeg Eddie though. Have had the odd Grave soul but no joy.
