I think Murders is the chosen opener AND because of Beast Over Hammersmith. They had to skip the intro, the drum roll is perfect to start a show. Btw, the intro of it (like Ides Of March) is one of the best live build-ups.As for my nitpicks, while I love Murders, it's kind of a strange and obscure opener for a hits-heavy setlist. And odd the intro is just the recording, and Simon doesn't come in until the opening fill.
Murders (and they can do a great backdrop with it, perhaps that had an influence; I guess it would have been for Prowler too) is more popular than Tailgunner, but not by all that much. Murders is also faster than Wrathchild, for example. They probably didn't want to open with Trooper.
