Just realised that an album I'm fond of (Hellhound by Monument) was produced and mixed by Tony Newton, so maybe he is up to the task when Steve isn't hovering over his shoulder saying "make this sound worse"

Yesterday i watched boston show first part. Im still thinking simon is a good drummer. They could have hired a really good drummer a star,yes. But i think they want to be a few years more and as you say tbey want to be comfortable. I do miss nicko but this is not horrible ( for me). And im starting to think he sounds great in the old tunes.

I listen a lot to NOTD. Live chapter sounds good to me but notd has a better setlist. Dont know why they didnt film that tour could be the best one they ever did.
 
I still, to this day, have not listened to Live Chapter in its entirety. Once I get to Wrathchild and hear the incredibly amateurish automation on the audience microphones, I turn that shit off. You can literally hear how he turns up the microphones and it sounds utterly and genuinely bad.

So Maiden knows and takes into account that fans want to hear certain songs (as confirmed by Bruce), but it doesn't matter how much fans dislike the production.

No, he will be in charge of recording the new Iron Maiden album, and he needs enough time and energy for this important task.

I understand that you believe that because you want to believe it. But in fact, Steve only invited Kevin Shirley to tell him in person that someone else will produce the new Iron Maiden album. It is more fair to tell someone something like that in person.

(I am just joking.)

I highly doubt they would replace Kevin for the studio recording. They shouldn't have done it for the live releases either. That would be yet another odd decision lately.
