This is a better overall mix (and yeah, the snare sound has always been my main gripe), so I'm pretty excited over the full album release - however - the new drum sound doesn't work that well imo during during the intro. It's too loud with too much attack. It needs to sound soft (with less top end) during the actual soft intro. Now it's like heavy drums on a gentle intro, which is effin weird. But just drop the drums 4dB in the intro imo would be enough for it to not stand out negatively without any further tweaks.

Preorders appeared for the remixed version of AOB. There's mention of a Dolby Mix but all I see is CD and Picture Disk. I was hoping for a BluRay release, I guess the Dolby Mix will only be made available through Apple Music.

I think the only remaster thag blew me away was SIT remaaster 2015 i think. Sounds really powerfull. Im not a fan of remasters or remakes.

I wasn't a fan of the new BtP. Felt too much like an overly processed modern metal sound... The original was more than perfect imo.
They probably made an extra effort for the albums that were released in those collectible boxes with the figurines.

There's not really any issues. It's a good-sounding record to begin with, though not particularly modern sounding, even in 1997.
So that's generally what they are doing here. They are making it sound a bit more modern and forward (with more midrange, more compression and forward rhytm guitars). I like it and find it an improvement, because it gives it more energy imo, but at the same time, the way the original record sounded has this old-school 70's quality to its sonics.

I'm perfectly happy with a remix of a 30 year old album. It sounds good! I would agree that AOB doesn't really need a remix, but I'm not complaining.
Ghost of Cain was added for the US and Japan releases, it was never on the original record.
The real question is how we get Brendan Duffey to remix the last 5 Maiden albums...
