RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

Not sure if that is quite good though, especially considering it was announced as a one-off extravaganza and last year they had 70k at London Stadium when they were also playing in Birmingham, Manchester, and Glasgow...
Those shows are part of why 50,000 at Knebworth this year is a very good result. It's the second leg of the tour, which means the novelty factor is gone. And like you say, they played a lot of people last year in the UK. Knebworth is also a nightmare to get to compared to a stadium show in London and casuals won't bother. The supporting bands didn't offer much support either, to put it that way.

Both San Siro and EddFest at Knebworth were huge crowds and very successful. Those arguing some gigs would be a flop are looking at it all wrong IMHO. It’s not about capacity but about tix sold.

I am in Texas and will be attending the Alamodome gig. As of right now they have sold about 35K seats. Could sell 10K - 12K more. But any band at their peak would be exited to play to 35K, much less being a 50 year anniversary tour. My guess is Alamodome will end up with 38-40K. Short of a sellout for that venue but still a HUGE crowd and one Rob and Maiden will be happy with IMHO.

I agree 100% with you

I've been meaning to ask since this year's tour started, have there been any Event Shirts for 2026?

I've been checking periodically in the Official Shop, but I haven't seen any. I'm surprised they haven't done one for Knebworth for example...

******

Another question I've had for the last couple of days, was all of Knebworth filmed for the official release, or did they purely just film the Encores does anyone know?

I'm guessing here, but I suspect so that there isn't an obvious lighting and environment change for the Encores, I suspect the "main" concert of the release will be Knebworth in full, with Paris as a "bonus gig". That way we'll get to see both gigs, and there won't be a radical change of environments if they edited in the Encores from Knebworth after the Paris gig, but I could be wrong....

There was a specific message on the screens before the encore asking people to put their phones away because those songs were being filmed.

Bruce said that between the footage they had from Paris, Amsterdam and what they would record at Knebworth they would "make it work" for the live release. He said this on a Planet Rock interview broadcast on Friday 10th July and recorded backstage at the recent Lisbon gig.

Paris will surely be the bulk of it. Knebworth is highly unlikely because it was mostly in daylight. The plan was to use the Knebworth encores but then Bruce got sick and so I'd say it's up in the air as to what Knebworth stuff will get used.

Its possible they film another show to fill in the gaps left in Paris.

I hope for a documentary documenting the absolute shit show of making this live album. Own it, lean into it, laugh about it. Give us some of Bruce's best bits of the altered versions he sang that day. And the worst. And Knebworth deserves a behind the scenes film, I think. Adrian's wife seems to have plenty of candid footage, use that. Adrian and Janick in a golf buggy? Just take my money. Steve and Dennis backstage with whoever else? You had me at golf buggy.

I've heard this rumor about a special bonus show in London that's supposed to be filmed. But that doesn't make any sense.
Why not film in South America instead?
I'm just wondering where that rumor comes from, since I just saw that it's mentioned here, too.

I think it was mentioned here as pure speculation. Could possibly be the source of the rumour you heard elsewhere, maybe.

They could but that would totally fucked considering that everyone knows of Bruce's issues at Knebworth. Also would it not sound quite incongrous, outdoor footage with indoor sound? I'm no expert in these things but I think it would be noticeable. Although Live Chapter proved that they can happily release incongrous live stuff.

I'm sure there's lots of chat among them as to how to do this live release.

Well, about yesterday...

I went to Nova Rock and went to the IM stage before Alter Bridge started playing. Alter Bridge was great and it was amazing to have a great opening band again (after Anthrax in Bratislava). I would gladly have them before Maiden again.

Maiden... Wow. Has to be the best concert of RFYL I have been at. Dave was great. Adrian was enjoying himself thoroughly. Steve was his usual. Janick danced around and was as animated as ever.

Now for Simon... He is doing much better and is much more relaxed this year. There were still some things like slowing down the end of the bridges on 2MTM that sounded clanky and that counting during 7th Son transition, but for the most part he was very smooth. Also, I think they finally tuned the snare a bit higher and therefore the drums sounded much better. Actually, the whole band's mix sounded better than last year.

Bruce was in great daily form and in a great mood. Only a few timing issues that he fixed himself in a matter of seconds without Adrian's stare. Hallowed was as good as it can get nowadays and Aces was passable. He joked around with the band and was more animated than in Bratislava. As some said, Bruce hinted at doing something next year, however, I think it might be him doing the Euro festival run next year with the solo band (or Steve has finally got his way and they will be playing a few select shows next year).

Anyways, it was great to see them up front again (2nd row, I'm not doing FTTB's anymore since Nicko's retirement, because I love that the last time I saw IM with Nicko it was on the barrier in Barcelona) and I got there super easy just before Alter Bridge. The only annoying thing were the crowd surfers.

All in all, if this is the last time I'll see them (hopefully not, but you never know), it was a great one.
Dawson just is not cutting it. He’s had a year. It’s time we all admitted it.
