The three weakest IM tracks of the 80s?

This feels like a Blasphemous Thread. I just looked at this last page and there's at least 2 of my Top 10 in here. I just love to read how wrong some people are some times, it's lovely.

Anyway, 3 songs, can't even. In terms of frequently mentioned songs, I love Invaders. The chorus is a bit off, a bit totally shite but the rest is peak nimble Harris and pure NWOBHM. Gangland the same. And Quest For Fire got me into dinosaurs which helped form a bond with my next door neighbour and we were best friends for about 2yrs because of it and his mother ended up saving my life when I was 9 or 10 so fuck the haters, uppa dinosaurs.

Ok, so if forced, I give the three 80s songs I'm least likely to put on randomly....

Drum roll pleaaaaseeee.....

Run To The Hills
Number Of The Beast
Hooks In You (written and recorded in 89, I do believe. I may have totally made that up)

Special mention to Heaven Can Wait.

All good tunes. And if I had to listen to Hooks In You 20 times just so I'd get Dave Murray straddling my shoulders while he played Invaders, I'd do it, in a heartbeat.

This is such a difficult game. Everytime I put on a contender, I go "well, this is actually a really good song". As there are no absolutely weak tracks, I will have to look at the weakest track from a relative point of view.

Iron Maiden
Drifter
Quest for Fire

Which proves our little band never made a true stinker (imo)

Almost agree completely: QFF´s instrumental section is amazing.

Which ones are the three weakest Maiden tracks of the 1980?
My choice:
-Quest For Fire (of course)
-Heaven Can Wait
-Innocent Exile
Why is Quest gor Fire an obvious choice? Appart from the lyrics, this song is musically way better than Sun and Steel and Flight of Icarus, just to name two from the same album.

It makes me cringe, really. Especially the high vocal moments. But I agree with you about my inappropriate speaking of obviousness. I should rather keep speaking for myself only.

only official songs from the main albuMs, no standalone singles or b sides:

Losfer words
Sun and steel
Charlotte the harlot

Invaders
The Prophecy

I can't think of other "bad" songs, but there had to be one more, it would probably be "Gangland", "Quest For Fire" (though the instrumental section is great IMO) or "Sun and Steel".

I rank two 80s songs as easily the worst (1/10): Drifter and Gangland.

After that it's either Another Life or Invaders.

Eli, you know what's up. This warms my soul.
Drifter starts out rather promising with a pretty cool intro riff. And then comes the rest of the song ruining it.
