I happen to disagree mate but fair enough. I go to tons of Maiden gigs myself and that's not what see but no point in arguing.
Maiden are not a stadium band in those territories, they tried to book 2 stadiums in NZ back in 2009 marketing it the long awaited return after 17 years and had to move the Christchurch show indoors to an arena which only held 10k, and the Auckland show only had pre sales of 12k leading up to the show but ended at half capacity with 16k on show day.
I hope for 5 arenas in Australia, 1 NZ, 2 shows in Tokyo (probably Saitama Arena), and maybe Indonesia/Singapore indoors too. Who knows, maybe one or 2 shows in India in between. If so, we would have 10 - 12 shows combined.
Based on that they shouldn't have done 90% of the stadiums that now they sell out easily.
In NZ they barely sell out a 12k arena, there were still tickets available the day of the show last time, makes no sense trying a stadium there. Either NZ is skipped this time around, or it's an arena show.
Totally untrue, last NZ show sold out on march 21st 2024, while the show happened on september 16th. There were 6 side view tickets available on may 8th.
That's true. If they add a big support act to the line-up, a few mid-stadium shows in Oceania might be in the cards too. 1 in NZ, 3 in Australia, but we must remember they've just played there less than two years ago. Who knows?!
They literally had a promotion giving away tickets for $66.66 in 2016 to push sales, I remember it well, and in 2024 for the first time decided not to play Christchurch and do a solo show, the popularity isn't there, a stadium show would completely flop
But we must realize another factor. RFYL tour in Oceania would be the first time they play absolutely the greatest hits with massive, modernized production. I know they did the Somewhere Back in Time tour 2008/2009, but it was heavily based on the Powerslave album and tour production.
They will probably play in the Brisbane entertainment center like they have been for YEARS
I would say arenas is the safe bet, but judging on how most of the tour they are showing a bold preference to pull off stadiums in most territories it's not so far fetched to assume they might try it in Aus too.
I think it was just for the 2nd Sydney show, sure as hell not for NZ.
The fact they played one show instead of two has nothing to do with the popularity, as the time before that they sold out both shows in advance (although the boxscore for one of the two was extremely low and not sold out, but it happens from time to time, probably a lot of guests that they didn't remove from the total cap number).
