Happy to hear it was great! Last years gig was bloody brilliant too and that one is in my Top 3 best concerts ever (Maiden included!)
 
I just watched some Brooklyn concert footage—Bruce actually sounds even stronger now than at the start of the tour. He absolutely nailed Flash of the Blade. At one point he even fenced with Tanya’s bass and danced around the stage during the song. It’s such a shame Maiden never made this track a live staple—it’s fun, lively, and upbeat. I’m crossing my fingers that the band successfully records an album in January. Please let it happen.

Oh, and Maestro Mistheria really embarrassed himself big time at the end of Flash of the Blade.

The man is damn near immortal
 
Shhh… don’t tempt the gods. I remember hearing the same kind of praise about Lemmy, Dio… and we all know how that turned out. Let’s not anger the skies.
 
Ozzy's probably the latest example of how we all in fact are bound to our mortal coil, no matter how impossible it may seem we don't live on.
 
Maybe he’s not “damn near immortal” but at any rate the man is still a force of nature. I was floored by his vocals and stamina throughout the show on Tuesday. He only began to get tired at the end of the show, and even then it’s not like he stopped jumping and moving and dancing a damn jig.

We as Maiden fans are lucky that the man still has it and we should cherish every day that he’s able to get up and sing like hell.
 
Great show in Minneapolis last night. ~1800 capacity theater, every seat in the house had a great view.

Bruce sounded amazing throughout, nailing every note he went for, even in stuff like “Flash Of The Blade”. Was awesome to finally get a heaping helping of Chemical Wedding songs in person, too!

I scanned around for anyone else in a ‘97 tour shirt and only saw one other dude down on the floor wearing one. Mostly newer fans then, I guess…?

I think the concert t-shirt culture is a niche thing within a niche of music. Like me, for instance. I have very rarely bought a gig t-shirt. So my point is, there could be loads of other, older BD fans, but they just haven't bought any Bruce merch back in the day - and I take it many older fans might as well sport Iron Maiden shirts?

Fair enough, but I expected to see more people fully represent!

There were definitely older fans there — saw a couple who looked like a typical obese grandma and grandpa sitting calmly by the fireplace, except they were tapping their feet to “Gods Of War” instead…LOL. Plenty of somewhat younger fans, too.

A friend of mine went wearing an AoB shirt, but he's a relatively new fan. I don't really wear band shirts anymore, so I just went in a Skeletor shirt. B)

Brilliant show, though, exceeded all my expectations for it. Bruce sounded excellent, the band were on fire and looking like they were having a blast up there, and not a lot of phones up! Probably due to that, the crowd participation in cheering, clapping along, fist-pumping was up a LOT more than it was at the recent Future Past show, in which the crowd was fairly tame, I thought. A little bummed we didn't get Starchildren, which they've been dropping in and taking out throughout the tour, but still went away very satisfied. And dang, the vibrations in the air from the booming of Bruce hammering on those koto drums during Gods of War you could feel in your friggan organs.

My wife said she enjoyed this more than her first Maiden concert with Future Past...can't say I entirely disagree. But, it's apples and oranges too, a more intimate venue vs, an arena, so hard to compare.

As an old fan I can remember that Bruce Dickinson solo T-shirts were very scarce back in the day and it was very difficult to find one to buy anywhere. In fact, I only managed to get one from the Iron Maiden store in 1999. One of my most precious T-shirts!

Thanks for sharing. The curious bits:

  • The new album will be different again. And he hopes the fans will get it, like TMP. Don't expect the same old stuff. The band put ideas on the road. They allowed 3 weeks to record early next year. 85% of it is like ready, they pre-recorded 9 songs in August this year. Really hope for more...
  • Some of the new songs will refer to TMP comics, but there are a few other things he's cooking up which might be interesting. More comics?
  • They have already booked a 2027 winter European headline tour, with look to SA and NA too.
  • They'll probably put out some live videos from the tour next year. No full live concert, Sao Paulo??
  • Favorite songs to sing live: ''Shadow Of The Gods'' (brilliant live song and a showstopper), ''Alchemist'', ''Book Of Thel'' and ofc ''Chemical Wedding''.
  • They didn't play Revelations because of Flash Of The Blade. Curiously, he said Revelations originally had 2 more verses.
  • 2026 for him is: a big Maiden tour, write and record the solo album, continuing the comics, record videos.

They really weren't sure what to do with BTP's style in 1994.

TCW is a mega album for him, it changed a lot of his views.

TOS is very underrated album because there was no promotion or tour for it.

For him: AOB is traditional metal, TCW was a whole new universe (like a poetic art), TOS is a hybrid of the two with a lot of catchy songs ("Devil On A Hog could have been on BTP''). He added that the approach to TOS was probably that way because he was back in Maiden and he didn't know if he would release more solo music. We were lucky he wasn't experimenting like now...

His solo work really helped him for his return to Maiden, trying different things.

TMP is a radical departure from all of his albums.

He didn't tell Steve he was going to play Flash Of The Blade, there are no problems.

It sounds like he's not responsible for Aces High's place in the current set?

He again said he loves to sing Rime and Seventh Son live.

Also, he says that his favorite songs to sing in Run For Your Lives are Rime and Seventh Son.
Jericho makes him remember Moonchild's mandrake scream line, and Bruce references Harry Potter and says sth like "it all started with Deep Purple's Mandrake Root."
And I appreciated Jericho's question about X-Factor and Bruce's answer where he underlines that some Blaze era songs are harder for him to sing.
BTW I loved his quick la-la-la (intro of Flash of the Blade riff).
