He's probably said it before - but the greatest live album for Bruce is Purple's Made In Japan.

"So we’re going in the studio with him in January, and we’re looking to release the album in 2027."

So, if Maiden records also new album, would they both (Bruce and Maiden) release it in the same year? I don't see in what timeframe Maiden guys could record it in 2026 (maybe autumn 2026), but if they do it in 2026 they surely would release their album in 2027.

They used to record in the spring and release in September-ish prior to the last 2 albums which were only delayed by Bruce's cancer and covid.

Saying that I can't see Maiden and Bruce going into the studio one after the other in early 2026.

Well, in 2021, Maiden and Adrian released albums in the same year. With Bruce's album, not that sure tbh, but who knows and when then?.
We can't know when Maiden will record, but if they plan to release it after the current tour (which would be normal), then both albums will be released in 2027, most likely right. Other options are next year after the tour (5 years gap, the last 2 albums were released in the fall, but the tour next year could be until then, so idk) and 2028, if 2027 is a 3rd leg.

Agreed. We have to see the dates, but it's tricky to say, for Maiden to record next year.

Finally got my copy of MBTP, only listened up to Laughing in the Hiding Bush so far.

Is there a weird edit in the final chorus of Gods of War or did my CD just skip

I think this sort of thing shows that a lot of the talk about good and bad production on forums is total bullshit, a song is either good or bad, the difference between a stripped down production and an overly polished production really doesn't alter that fact a hell of a lot, and certainly "overly polished" doesn't necessarily equate to better, and "stripped down" doesn't necessarily equate to "worse".

I can't see much reason for me to come back to this version, once I've finished playing it over the next few weeks, but I'm sure it's fine for anyone who's never had the album before.

I disagree with it being "total bullshit". A good prouction will elevate a good song. A bad production won't ruin it, but there's always going to be a nagging feeling of "this should've been different".
Same thing with a "bad" song; a good production won't make it magically amazing but might underline some of the better parts of the song. A bad production on a bad song? The worst combination, straight to the garbage.

As for polished, stripped down and so on, those are largely down to taste. When people mention "overly polished" they usually mean the rather sterile and lifeless productions heard in modern metal, where every single note is quantized to the grid and it feels like you're listening to robots, rather than humans. Stripped down on the other hand often feels like a downgrade or like the band choosing to save costs and go for something "lesser".

At the end of the day it's just one of many thing we like to talk about and discuss. Songwriting, song structure, performance, production, and so on. We're all a bit nerdy about music, otherwise we wouldn't be here, right? :D

Ah, the VXI effect.
Nah, despite my obvious bias, VXI being my favorite Maiden album after all, there are a few songs on there that the fandom generally agrees are great. Futureal is one of their strongest rockers and The Clansman, thanks to RiR and LOTB, is a legendary track. If some of the VXI were on BNW, with that line up, production and so on, they'd be beloved songs nowadays.

Here's where I disagree: I don't think most people remember Futureal exists and Clansman would be similarly forgotten had it not been included on RiR. Much like SotC it really lives on thanks to its appearance on reunion era Maiden's first live album, which I personally also consider their very best. If Futureal was included in the BNW set and Clansman's latest live performance relegated to a B-side, I imagine this would be reversed - but crucially, Clansman would still occasionally get pointed out as a forgotten, obscure gem unlike Futureal.
