RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

The setlist is good there are no "deep cuts" but a lot of rare songs or not usual. Murders,killers,phantom,rime seventh son .
The stage i like it for some songs like rime but during iron maiden i was expecting a big classic eddie and not that eddie. For me that was a low point
On one hand I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get a traditional big Eddie (inflatable or mechanical), but I like the animation so much. There's no way to get the this kind of movement without CGI animations. Also, the faces of the recent Eddies are awesome.

Regarding The Rime of the Artificial Mariner:
I agree with the hypocricy point cited above.

However, I'd also point out that it's possible that they just hired a team to work on the screen show (possibly the speculated Legacy of the Beast company that referred moving on to a next Maiden project when they announced the end for the game) and the "video artists" or whoever among them settled with the use of AI for some of the animations.

Not saying it's classy or very professional, let alone that I'd like it, and there's no denying that Maiden, as the client who ordered the footage, is still responsible for what they put out in front of the paying audience.

I'm merely speculating that it might be more of a "here's the budget, schedule & the setlist - make it happen" than "go and use AI in order to keep the costs down."

But yeah, whatever the case, I'm not a fan of it.

From what I've seen, most of the show looks pretty decent, anyway, so it's a bit sad how they eventually let that... mishap happen.

Good point @Randalf. I don't think we need to go all "torches and pitchforks". This might have explanations beyond malice or exploitation. And from what we've seen the vast majority of the show seems to have no signs of AI involvement.

I think Bruce mentioned something along the lines of there is still work to be done. Maybe Rime wasn't ready in time for whatever reason and the animation team took a shortcut, with the goal of finishing later, as long as the show can move on in time. I guess we'll see about that.

I have felt like there were some additional scenes in the Mariner background today, although, I could've missed them in Budapest.

I will keep torches and pitchforks out for the decision to play Aces High. I'm fine if they iron out the videos during the first few shows.

I disagree—fans do affect their setlist. The potential crowd size, the attendance… let’s not be naive about that.
Not in the way you'd like to think. And I'm not playing any "Trust me bro" games, you're free to agree or disagree; it doesn't change the reality.

At this stage of their career, a band like Maiden has very few considerations when it comes to choosing a setlist. What Jimmy in Oklahoma or Stepan in Uruguay or Helen in Mauritius want to hear is not one of them.

They play:

- What they WANT to play;
- What's easy for them to perform;
- Their songs that get the best crowd response.

That's pretty much it, despite all of our desires for deep cuts and first-time-evers. A band like Maiden goes the extra step and cares about their long-time fans and tries to include some surprises each tour, but they simply cannot please everyone.

I have no idea if you were around in 1986 but ever since the "Somewhere On Tour" set, there was a huge outcry to see "Alexander" performed live. It became this mythical thing, the greatest song that Maiden will never play live. It took them almost forty years to play it on TFP Tour. They didn't give in to any perceived pressure; they felt that it was the right time.

People bitching and kvetching about things they have no idea about online are the last ones the band listens to. They're insulated from all of that silliness.

In the past they did the same thing, shirts abvailable for 48 hrs, and after that time frame the shirt disappeared. And was never brought back.
The absolute only exception they did yet was the Herve shirt from last year, TFP, with the brain eating Eddie, still available. Reason is obvious I guess... it's so ugly that absolutely no one wants to have it.

It's good they obviously sacked herve for their tour shirt designs. I never got it. They could afford the most brilliant artists on the planet for their iconic mascot, while those Herve designs looked like done by 4th grader or even worse. My Eddie drawings as a ten year old back in 1985 in my school books looked better.

Please show us any of your designs you think are better than Herve’s.

Just a small report.

A friend of mine, who is a casual, just came from Prague concert and said: "hands down top 3 concerts of my entire life".

This guy is a metal freak - goes to every fucking metal concert you can imagine. He likes Maiden, but can be considered as a casual - he is more into thrash and black metal.

Anyway, he was really impressed. According to him, the highlight was ROTAM. His friends, who are even more casual fans than he is, were also incredibly impressed. They all had an amazing night.

I'm the same--I was looking forward to seeing what they had and then...CG Eddie? But looking at the size and scope of the screen, it was probably the evolution Eddie would eventually take at some point. I like it a lot, can't be mad at it, and it's genuinely impressive from some of those first videos I watched.

My only gripe is that Eddie's on maybe a 10-15 second loop in his animations once he pops out. I get that it's certainly more than we got from an inflatable that does nothing or a giant tree Eddie/alien Eddie that looks back and forth flapping its jaws with fingers wiggling, but on the other hand, if you're strictly watching to see what Eddie does, you're not watching the band underneath.

Nice. Casuals deserve to enjoy a Maiden show just as much as us hardcore fans do!
