It's a hard roll!
To be honest, only Clive nailed it in live shows.
It's a hard roll!
Yes, they are doing this tour for the masses. The old school die hard fans will cry about anything anyway. The "uninspired" encore block is probably an amazing thing for first time goers and the casuals. I am sure I´ll have a good time even if I don´t have any desire to see these 3 tracks again. It´s a little bonus after like 90 minutes of the amazing main set. Honestly I am stoked to see the opening old school block of songs as I was far too young to see them 20 years ago + they are finally playing fucking KILLERS!!!
Amazing to think we had these three absolutely killer Maiden tours in a row with excellent theatrical sets and inventive set lists.Ι'm 50/50. I like some aspects of it, but I definitely prefer BOS, Legacy and Future Past stages.
especially the Legacy Revelations stage. They can't top that. Nothing on a screen can ever look that good.Amazing to think we had these three absolutely killer Maiden tours in a row with excellent theatrical sets and inventive set lists.
Looking forward to London, excited by the first 2/3rds of the set. But glad I'm not going to multiple dates, time to take a step back.
Been to single dates in 1998 and 1999, and then multiple dates on BNW, GMETID, DoD, ERuTW, AMOLAD, SBIT, TFF, ME, BOS, LOTB, FP tours.
Not sure what it is, maybe too much change in one go without Nicko and with screens. I'm especially pissed off by the uninspired encore.
If the 50th anniversary tour hits interesting other countries in 2026 I'll maybe see another date. But glad I'm not investing lots of money and building my travel plans around the tour this summer.
Adrian's can't go wrong with such fills live. The harmony adds depth to the middle part of Phantom, I like it. Like for Sign Of The Cross.BTW, Adrian wrote a new part for the middle bit of Phantom.
Yeah, but at least they create something cool. They indeed could use the potential of some songs with the screens more (Number, Trooper, Seventh Son, Phantom, Fear, even Powersalve), but it is what it is. There is always room for improvement. Also, some of the videos, like Mariner, are 100% AI and don't know how to feel about that. It's distracting me. Also, they did all this AI video for Mariner and they just got 7th son Eddie waggling his spinal cord for 7th son.
some of them are cool. Mariner looks great and cringe at the same time. Some parts of it scream AI and it's distracting me. The Hallowed gimmick was cool because it blends together the screen and the real world. I don't have an issue with the ones that look like the backdrops. Number was maybe the most underwhelming and Wasted Years probably the best.Yeah, but at least they create something cool. Btw, some of the screen arts (without the clips, ofc) would probably have been regular backdrops: Murders, Wrathchild, Phantom, Clairvoyant, 2 Minutes, Hills, Seventh Son, Trooper(duh), Wasted Years. But at least the single covers look more impressive and like ''lively'' with the screen.
For me, 8 of the screens ideas are some of their coolest.
I think it's completely pointless to start thinking about quitting just yet. As long as the guys are having fun and want to keep doing this, they absolutely should. And some of them quite likely have continuity ahead in their careers (Steve, Bruce and Adrian). You never know what’s going to happen. Of course, it’s also important to acknowledge the passing of time—they’re getting older, and that’s something we all have to accept. But right now, I believe the band has gained new energy and momentum thanks to Simon, so maybe it’s best to just enjoy the moment and not overthink things. If we get even a few more tours and one final album, I’ll be grateful for all of it. Maiden has been a part of my life for such a long time.Rautaneito.com on their recent Facebook post!
Had they stuck with a traditional stage set, Id be a big fan of the Killers backdrop of the Underground tunnels with the curtains just coming down over the middle 'wall'.Yeah, but at least they create something cool. They indeed could use the potential of some songs with the screens more (Number, Trooper, Seventh Son, Phantom, Fear, even Powersalve), but it is what it is. There is always room for improvement.

The Future Past (besides the video pillars) was rather bare in contrast to LotB and TBoS stages, but the setlist more than made up for it at least.Just watched Phantom of the Opera from the second Budapest night (The video Kalata posted) Wow. Just… wow. I really like the sound, and I very much like the stage lighting and how it’s used—it feels like they’ve put in extra care this time. I love what Adrian is doing—adding that extra guitar layer—and the backing vocals are spot on.
Don’t want to sound negative, but for me, this tour has already surpassed The Future Past tour. I always felt that FP’s stage show was a bit underwhelming, to be honest. And it really seems like they’ve heard the fans and made an effort to go bigger with the stage production.
Oh, and those the ever-changing lighting colors really add to the experience. Good stuff!
So it's no more an Ibanez Destroyed. As I assumed, the Destroyer was in poor condition. But it was brought back to life by the guy who looks after one of the most priceless guitars in the world... Brian May's Red Special, Andrew Guyton. Comissioned by Colin Price (Dave's guitar tech).
Restoration photos:
BTW, the next post by Andrew will likely be on Lados.
May I say that if played properly it's not a bad variation?France 1998? Blaze was not the only one off, lol
(I'm not sure who plays first and who second, but the fact the second one plays it the same wrong way to mock the first one is just hilarious)
It's Ibanez Restored. So it's no more an Ibanez Destroyed.
Rime is a special song.I’m already starting to think those Lado guitars make them sound better, but honestly, I think it’s the old material itself—the songwriting and that riff-heavy playing style.
Yes, another not easy element for him. Like almost the whole set. The screams sound like differently? He has a lot of screams this tour. Killers, Wrathchild, Beast, Rime. Did he scream at the end of Aces High too?
Isn't that kind of normal? And after a first show.Someone said that he looked exhausted and like he was about to keel over numerous times during the first show. Hilarious.
