Back in the days of the "official" Maiden forum, I used to see many Janick appreciation threads from the small contingent of supporters there. The hate was borderline vitriolic but his fans, myself included, have been proven right with time. The man's passion and song crafting ability are...

No, but I'm thinking their hope is that Maiden fans who haven't already purchased the album online may seek out retail outlets to pick up a copy. On the way out, or on the way to the album, they may pick up impulse items or general goods during their visit. It's kind of ingenious if you think...
The Apparition
I can find something to like in basically every Iron Maiden song, even if I don't like the track as a whole. This is the only one I can honestly say that I hate.
Thanks! As much as I'd love to hear a collection of strong, fast paced songs from the band, it's time for me to accept that they're past all that. I'm loving their more longform work here, and always have, so if that's what they're going to pour their creativity into I'd personally rather them...
Reposting from the Maiden Chat thread. As I'm wont to do whenever a new Maiden album comes around, I'm here to pop out of the shadows, spew my opinions on it, then fade into the great unknown after about ten posts or so when my enthusiasm wears off. Enjoy, lambaste, or ignore at your leisure...

Ugh, watching that video is always heartbreaking. Up until Final Frontier, Brave New World was my favorite album, but it always gave me a headache. Same with DoD and VXI.
If any albums in Maidens back-catalog ever get complete remixes and remasters, these three are the absolute top candidates.
Re: Satellite 15....The Final Frontier
It's not a defect exactly, you're just hearing where the drum-loop starts over. That's actually what clued me in that it was a drum machine rather than Nicko.
Just saw the video, and I'm pretty impressed. A long time ago I had to accept that crappy CGI was going to be a recurring trend in Maiden videos, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn't so bad. Did anyone else catch the Indiana Jones and Alien references? Nice touch. All around...
I don't know about that. It's true that Bruce has lost a lot of his higher register, but his full voice is still very strong. I don't see why he couldn't pull off a more than respectable rendition of Highway Star or something. He certainly has more than enough voice for it, plus he can still do...
