All this time, I've never done this kind of thing, so I thought, why not? Still, I had to use "Preference Revealer" (Thanks Diesel 11)

Anyway, these are results, and they don't make any sense at all, but damn it - I'm sticking with it!

Super fucking glad to see Final Frontier in someone's list! A classic and, imo, the most underrated reunion album.

Extra pleased to see some love for Final Frontier I ignored it for a time based on negative feedback but I've had it in heavy rotation for months now and plan on keeping it that way. I especially love the 1-2-3 punch of Isle of Avalon / Starblind / Talisman, but the excellence just keeps coming with Man Who Would Be King & When the Wild Wind Blows. You can just pop this CD in and leave it on, there are no 'skip' songs.

Never thought highly of Seventh Son. The top three here could be swapped around with any at the very top. Dance Of Death gets lots of stick but some of the tracks are excellent, IMO and I can't think any other Maiden album that has no padding - maybe Piece of Mind and Powerslave, so DOD shouldn't be damned for having some lesser songs. Don't know why the last two Bruce albums before he had is hiatus are so short of decent songs. No Prayer For The Dying and Fear of the Dark are so disappointing. Like I said, for me it's the lack of quality songs except the Fear of the Dark track. Musicianship is fine as is Bruce's voice so I don't understand how those two could be nearly as bad as the two Blaze albums. And when Bruce returned they release albums that if they'd been released after Somewhere in Time with the two Blaze albums and the low pair of Bruce albums never being released then their catalogue would have been second only to The Beatles in terms of high quality and consistently great music.

I lost you there. What about Seventh Son, it should or shouldn't be there for Maiden to be in par with Beatles consistency?

There’s a common thread there — those four albums didn’t have Adrian Smith on them. :ok:

I need information on this:
-What exactly makes A Matter Of Life And Death the best ever Maiden album?
-How come Senjutsu is in the lower third of your list?
-What makes No Prayer For The Dying so much better than Fear Of The Dark?
-Why is Virtual XI better than the debut and even better than The XFactor?

Choosing between your children .... :)

.... Senjutsu and BOS have dropped in my rankings because double albums choc-full of epics don't flow well for me.

Great songs on both of them, of course, but judged purely as full albums this 90+ minute format is never as compelling even as the 67ish minutes of AMOLAD, DOD or BNW. Let alone the 50 minutes 80's albums.

Also, I'd still give VX11 at the bottom of my list 6.5 / 10, so I like all the albums somewhat.

I'm noticing a trend, both Di'anno era albums are rated very low by most people here. Why?
Both albums, especially the debut are great, raw and very influential, they're top 5 in my opinion.
