A mock Eastern sounding jaunt on an Ancient Egypt-based horror theme doesn't strike me as something that sums up Maiden's work. A horror theme, maybe, but Powerslave is more like a detour into a bit of silliness with an overstated theme.

I don't think it should matter whether the songs featured highly in a ranking of Maiden songs is representative of their overall style or not.

That aside, I think Powerslave's mid-section is an especially remarkable display of Maiden's tastefulness and craft.
