Tonight we revisit Gamma Ray's "tribute to almost all classic metal bands". In the first part of the song "Insurrection" we already hear Tears of the Dragon, and the vocal part at 1:20-1:22 makes me think of Holy Diver (melody, and that the sentence ends with the word "masquerade").

But at 1:48 I can't recall which song they are referencing. It sounds like Manowar.

So what is the dispute about? Salaries? Contracts?
Company tried to introduce a two-tier system where new hires get paid on lower salary grid than existing staff.
Union said no and walked out. About three weeks after the strike began, the company bought out its only significant competitor, which pays its employees less. No talks since. Company takes over the competition at the end of the month.

So I went out to this new pub called Berliner pub. Ordered this.

Memminger kristallweizen beer, sausages, fries and a pretzel. Supposed to be a German themed restaurant, but apart from some pics on the wall doesn't look much like it. But the food and beer was awesome, so I'll take it :)

How is it possible to eat that much sausage at once?

I purposefully had a small lunch so that I can eat more there. But I can probably eat that much at any given time :P

This is pretty good. Sounds a lot more like 80's metal than the Metalcore they used to play (or maybe this song is an exception). He's a good singer. Slightly pitchy as the obvious tuning reveals, but still very very competent.

@mckindog that doesn't sound good indeed. Let's hope it will change for the better.

The amount of "tributes" on this album seems to be endless. For people who hadn't seen it, here the lot of Maiden and Bruce copy/pasted pieced (and more).

Kai "borrowed" a couple of riffs on the Majestic album too.

Edit:

Watching this. First off, Lizzy Hale's bad ass. Second, Bach brings his A game. Definitely puts a lot of effort into this one, as he usually phones this one in nowadays. But damn he sounds great on this.

Don't agree on the "Tears of the dragon" count though.

I just can't stand her voice, not to mention that I'm not a fan of Halestorm's music. Then again, I have an issue with female singers in general.

Doesn't sound like a place I'd like to work.

Yes, the atmosphere has an obvious Manowar sense to it!

And that's not a good thing. That being said, I like this better than Manowar. The Majestic album was solid.

Very Manowarish (at least in style)!

Way better than Manowar :) I loved this song ages ago and I still do.
There's a little Highway Star in there, if you can hear it ;)
