No, he meant variety Wiz. Pendant. It's status is pretty debatable as a language, but it's more (in the case of Broad Scots) than just a dialect (probably).
I think the word you're looking for is dialect Loosey.
No, it's more than a dialect.
Exactly. It's a standardised variety of the English language which has official status. These things don't apply to dialects.

Interesting debate, but how are you defining 'variety' versus 'dialect'?

I'm giving TFF a spin, which I haven't in quite some time. Is it just me, or is Bruce straining throughout the album? I mean, he reaches the notes, but many of them sounds like they are out of his comfort zone. Mother of Mercy chorus is the worst example, but Starblind's verses shows a Bruce struggling as well. I believe both Starblind, Mother of Mercy and The Talisman (best vocal performance out of the three, but Kevin had a lot of trouble with the vocal compiling, like he wrote in his blog...) would have sounded better had they been recorded during the AMOLAD sessions.

It's true. Honestly, they should have been recorded a half or full step down, they would be infinitely more comfortable and sound less strained. Also, heavier!

You're making a similar argument to mine when I was discussing concert pitch. I think Maiden should tune down half a step in concert, and should have following the Somewhere Back on Tour.

Yes, he does indeed sound strained throughout. Actually I thought his voice sounded much stronger and more natural in concert than it did on this album.

The singing is very free on coming home though. He gets great resonance and the air flows freely there.

Edit: Yes, I agree: The En Vivo performance is superior to the album.

Edit 2: Although, En Vivo featured none of the more difficult TFF songs, than The Talisman. BUt The Talisman is definitely better than the album version.
