Maiden Tour 2014 (SPOILER TAGS REQUIRED WITHIN)

Sounds like an album. If not, then I really doubt Rod's sanity.

This brings back memories. When The Final Frontier came out, I had never listened to Maiden except a few songs like Number of the Beast and Fear of the Dark. But I had the habit of going on Wikipedia and reading about different bands so Maiden's turn had to come and I read about the new album being released. There was a sentence: "As this is Maiden's 15th album, it is believed this could remain their last, ending a saga" or something like that. I was far from being a fan at the time but it still made me sad to see such a giant go. Some time later I decided to listen to some of their material so I took the first song of the first album - Prowler. I instantly liked it, gladly I didn't listen to the whole album, wouldn't have had such a great first impression :D. Just a few memories.

I know this is VERY unlikely, but there is a super slight chance that they'll do something from the 80's that has never been played live. ATG would be a dream come true of course!

Also, there is a possibility that they could still include some 90's material on future new album tours. I never would have dreamed they would have had as much 00's material on the 2 legs of the Final Frontier tour.

Having read all the press related stuff from this tour, i understand why its Maiden England. To quote bruce "This will be the last concert of our ‘Maiden England’ Tour and it is very fitting to end a long and hugely enjoyable tour in our own back yard." If Sonisphere UK is the final date then its going to be an extremely short tour, infact Rod says that itl start at the end of May so its a most just under 2 months. With a tweaked setlist as well, i think this is more Maiden were asked to do Knebworth to celebrate the 40 years of rock at Knebworth, so what better way to do it than 80s hits. I wouldnt call this a proper tour, its a mini tour. Who knows maybe the footage they filmed at RiR and Sao Paulo wasnt good enough to release on DVD. I dont think this was a Maiden fully fledged tour, i think this was just them being asked will they do it in honor of the event and help out Sonisphere so they agreed.

I reckon due to the short length of this tour theyl be back in studio by September and new album out at the start of 2015 followed by a tour kicking off in March.

Or they could start the new album at the beginning of next year and finish it after the festival dates for a late 2014 release. I'm really hoping something like that because I don't want to wait until 2015 for a new album. It's bad enough waiting 4 years, much less 5!

Oh shit I hope not

Edit: Metallica are playing on Sunday July 6, it says so on their website.

It's already confirmed for Maiden and Sabbath.
But if the others are confirmed, I can say that will be the best Hellfest ever made.

Friday: Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Slayer, Sepultura, Death, Turisas.

Saturday: Aerosmith, Soulfly, Hatebreed.

Sunday: Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Megadeth, Emperor, Iced Earth, Paradise Lost.

Those are the bands I'd be interested in seeing. Greatest festival line-up ever?
