He did say there would be one at some point, so there is some hope.
Ah, you're ruining an already not too brilliant afternoon. Perun, could you see them doing just a farewell tour, without releasing anything ? This would be so mediocre. They definetely need a classy exit.
I'm pretty sure that there will also be another British Lion album next year. Another Primal Rock Rebellion album would be awesome, though it's unlikely to happen.
A Hx tour followed by a Hx tour? --that ain't going to happen. It sounds grim indeed, but I don't know if the difference between what's now being predicted & the past is really that radical, now that I think about it. The SBiT Hx tour finished at the beginning of April 2009; TFF album was released in mid-August 2010; & although Maiden were on tour when it was released, the main tour supporting TFF album didn't really kick off until February 2011, continuing well into the year. So quite a lot of people might have seen Maiden in early 2009 on a Hx tour & had to wait until early 2011 to see them on the next album tour. Equate that to now: that's like people seeing Maiden this fall on Maiden England & then having to wait until late 2015 to see them on the next album tour. Brucie's comments don't contradict that timeframe. And that's not taking into account this tour being extended into late-late 2013, or even 2014 anyway. It feels long (to me too), but is it really?Unless they drop another history tour in somewhere beforehand, it really could be years before we see them tour again, too. Grim.
Yeh, but ToS came out after DoD, did it not?I don't know. As much as I love Bruce's solo work - and I really do! - it's always been more of a sideshow to me. I especially had that feeling with Tyranny of Souls. It was something that kept me entertained until Maiden came back with the real thing. If the real thing gets a delay for the sideshow, I'd feel cheated.
... yet still only manage to play the UK a couple of times. Sorry, London. And maybe a festival...I don't doubt the release of a new album. When that will be, who knows, but it will happen. And even if they never release another studio album, this is Iron Maiden we're talking about: their normal tours are epic feats of modern miracles, their farewell tour would no doubt last two years, hit every single continent multiple times (including Antarctica), and end with a performance on a space station orbiting the Earth.
Maybe not when you see that sideshow live.I don't know. As much as I love Bruce's solo work - and I really do! - it's always been more of a sideshow to me. I especially had that feeling with Tyranny of Souls. It was something that kept me entertained until Maiden came back with the real thing.
