News Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

Rod Smallwood has been awarded an OBE, for his services to music and Maiden. Well done Rod.
And his charity work.

Joe Lazarus posted this photo 21 hours ago. I’m taking it as a massive hint. Nicko’s birthday is merely a formal excuse. (Because he’s sandwiched between Iron Maiden boss Steve and Nicko. The photo was clearly taken after a job interview, and Nicko, as we can see, fully supports the upcoming decision.)

This photo is old and hints anything. Simon will be their drummer until the end.

For all I know, he bought it or got it directly from the BBC (think they were going to discard it!!!). He probably has made some copies to people close to his circle.

I think Maiden would be able to litigate for it if they wanted to, but for what I have seen, Maiden isn't as interested as some fans on getting stuff we would love to see.
Not sharing this type of material is the most supid thing on this gray bootleg area.

Judging by the passes that Steve and Nicko are wearing, it looks like it was taken at a gig.

Thanks. Some of the usual things, but I did enjoy reading it.

This is interesting, but doesn't really give any clear answers about the future

“Personally, I would love to do in another, another album,” is Bruce’s answer. “I would rather do another album than another tour. If I had to choose between the two, I'd rather choose a new album, but Steve's the other way around. He will tour and tour and tour and tour until he probably dies onstage. Touring is fun, but it's not new. I'm a creative bunny, and I like making new, new things.”

“I think Bruce would love to do a new album, and I don't have a problem doing one. I just think if we do one, it's got to be at the right time,” says Steve. “But everybody's got to want to do it, so we'll have to see about that.

“I don't want to say too much about it, but I'm not saying we're not going to do one, I'm just not saying we are eager to rush into it.”

Hmm..

Steve said multiple times recently that he prefers tours instead of all the process to make another new IM album.

And with the exaggerated criticism from the band's so-called fans about senjutsu, I agree with steve on this.

The quotes about

"Lets about that year off and bruce want to do another album and steve wants but in the right time" makes me think that bruce is hammering the others for not take this whole year off and record in a few months and album"

I never doubted that we'd get at least one more album out of them, but for me the most exciting part of that interview is this quote:

if the next move is more touring, that in itself gets to be a creative endeavour of sorts:

Bruce - “That will involve, I would say, 90 per cent of this set going in the bin. There’s so much to do, so many possibilities. It's really quite exciting.”

I'm glad that they're unwilling to settle into a cabaret act and are seemingly thinking about fresh and exciting themes for future tours.

Fans are allowed to dislike an album and be critical of a band.
