Ancient Mariner
I doubt they would record "BIG MAC $1.03" as part of the lip sync recordings. He does sometimes. I've seen "live" videos of them and the drums were playback too.
And he sounds like pure concentrated shite 99.5% of the time.

Hope you get to go!One week till Maiden in Amsterdam. I missed them last year due to all kinds of horrible shit I was doing and was done to me, but this year would love to treat myself, as I am going through some sort of a renaissance, or at least trying. Hopelessly sold out with only things popping up on Ticketswap are seats starting at 170 EUR which I hoped would be much lower, but let's see on the day. If I get someone to be with my son I can hunt for something before the venue... wish me luck
heretic. Burn him at the stake!Adrian is playing Infinite Dreams intro melody a little differently. I wonder why.

Just my feelings as well in the transition from 2024 to 2025. The usual reasons (No Nicko, screens, set list from 40 years ago...). Plus the band reaching their 70s.Interesting point! Perhaps the RFYL-thread isn't the ideal place for going deeper into this, anyway, can you explain your thoughts about exactly this a little more? Just curious! Thanks a lot m8!
The screens are ok for this tour if they wanted to do it like this. The screens on the amps are cool it works better than the big one. The big eddie i dont like it at all.I think the issue here is that Maiden has been the best metal band live because the energetic gigs, but since Covid and Legacy of the beast second leg you can notice the lack of energy, maybe because Nicko's issues, age, songs played at the same tempo of the original songs in the albums. Predictable things like the same kind of pyro in Rime of the Ancient Mariner . Every song has a distracted video on screen with Eddie so when Iron Maiden is played the surprise factor with the big Eddie is meh, oh…ok, it's fine.
Streching during a few songs. He sounded good on most of them.I have to say I noticed Nicko's issues and it is what it is, you can't say there wasn't a problem there but you can't hold it against them. But from my perspective the band is still playing with energy and passion every time I see them. I couldn't disagree less with the idea that they're low energy, actually. There's a phenomenal amount of energy on stage from a bunch of people touching their 70s. Sure, they're not bounding around with the energy they might have had in 1986 or even 2016 but saying they're not giving it everything they've got is deeply unfair to them. I mean hell, we've got you all complaining about Bruce stretching his voice past its limits every show.
Iron Dawson & 5 Old MenAt this point, it’s basically Dawson’s Iron Maiden.

More importantly, (and I posted this on the official forum recently), the main messages used by the band since 1999 are running out of road:
- this band exists as a vital entity because of new music
- only playing older songs is 'cabaret'
...these messages have vanishing relevance. Not because Maiden's done anything wrong, but because of the sheer duration of the reunion era, 27 years long and counting. I'm sure maiden thought they might get 10 or 15 years at most back with Bruce but here we happily are. I feel the messages need updating to reflect the band's vibe now. If it is hits tours into the sunset then so be it. But RFYL is the first time since 1999 that things have felt very different for me. It's the first tour that feels slightly 'corporate', but I'm not sure why I think that, and I'm being unfair given that it always was a business anyway.
I think for a bunch of old guys they are doing a great job still, yeah not as good as they were and not the same without Nicko but still top drawer. I think maybe people need to view the Maiden gig they go to a bit differently than a few years ago , maybe lower expectations slightly then all is good.
I don`t think some of the crowds help the atmosphere on occasion especially in a big venue if it isn`t full or if it`s a bit quiet. The seats in some of the gigs , not just maiden are like a library and that can`t help the band much. Madrid last year was a great gig and the full house loud as f..k crowd played a part for sure, will the San Siro be the same, i aren`t so sure.
Someone said that there are not streaming anymore. But i cant remember if it was RIR or RARAny idea if there is gonna be Rock am Ring live stream of Iron Maiden show?
There will be a live stream from Rock am Ring, but will Maiden/Rod agree?Someone said that there are not streaming anymore. But i cant remember if it was RIR or RAR
