RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

And why on earth they should drop it?

Something pretty normal for every footage that needs to go online quickly.

Then don't buy it.

I thought the official forum was full of people trying to bash Maiden for basically made-up reasons, but here it's a whole new level.
I just thought about it, if something was “bad” and then improved, people will probably just find something else to complain about hahaha.

Do you think there is any chance that Shirley might mix it? I can't stand Tony Newton's mixes. They should at least give Pooch a shot with the live release mix if they do not want to spend more money on the release.
Sadly, I think low. Tony Newton is the most likely candidate.

AFAIK Pooch mixed all of the Linkin Park live recordings whem they were releasing them to their fanclub when he worked for them.

Tony Newton is, however, on and off touring with KK's Priest. So hopefully, stars won't align and he'll be unavailable.

And I like to think, and hope, that likely Maiden's last live album gets mixed by Kevin rather than a second rate budget guy. Like come on, spend a few bucks.

To be safe it would make sense to simply assume any of the 2023 and onwards deepcuts won't return again. CSIT, Alex, The Prisoner, now Infinite Dreams, and so on probably won't be seen again.
Probably true. But let's see how they approach the deep cuts (and the sets overall) in the future (not many left from the 80s, the Reunion era and the 90s have their popular ones waiting), with a new album it would be easier for a tour. They have like 5 mandatory classics, they could return some of the semi-classics from the 80s...

Saw some footage of Infinite Dreams. Don't know why but the "Even in my wildest dreams" part gives me goosebumps. Bruce is singing it so fantastic! I'm really impressed!
Even with a different vocal melody for that line, it still works. I always thought the intro melody played by Adrian has a Dave vibe to it.

It's interesting how performing a deep cut live will make you like the song ever more.

I think it boils down to Simon playing a different kit and being a different drummer.
Yep, we can't expect him to play the song like Nicko. I hope the cymbals mix isn't so low on the live release, I still think he could have added more. I like his fatter drum sound live, he is doing fine.
Also, during The Number of the Beast, just watching Simon, he seems a bit laid-back - or maybe tired - to me. I’m not feeling quite enough drive from him. Like others have said, maybe he’s playing to a click track to keep the tempo steady and closer to the album version.
He keeps the tempos steady, just like the band wants, and I like his power playing. He plays Aces faster than Fear and Wasted, which normally wouldn't make sense. We were so blessed with Nicko.

I don't know which sound I prefer more, metallic or wooden.
Dave Moreno seems mixed way better by Pooch than Simon.
True that. I think they let Simon to decide how to sound live.

Isn't it quick and easy to just take the footage from the screens of the show (they record all)?

Me last summer, after the fantastic Maiden show in Helsinki:

Ah, that was amazing! Great performances and a lot of songs I haven't heard live for a long time or ever before. However, I don't really need to see this show again, so I'll skip the next leg, I'm short of extra money anyway

Me now:
INFINITE DREAMS... I NEED TO SEE THIS SHOW.

Aces High? Because Bruce sounds like he is dying.
Can anyone tell me WHY the hell they actually keep stuck with Aces High, and even as an encore?? Did Bruce lose some bet or something? I mean, they must have an own interest to deliver a perfect performance. But since Bruce CAN'T HANDLE Aces anymore nowadays, they should realize Aces will NEVER turn into a good performance again! That ship has sailed! (And isn't even something new, the problem is dragging on for years now and won't get any better!) Steve is known to be some kind of a perfectionist, no? There's nothing perfect about Aces in 2026 anymore tho.
So... WHY????

Now the setlist is absolutely perfect. And yet somehow people still find something to bitch and moan about. I just don't get it.

I don’t get this. Most of it is just the stuff they’ve played for decades. Great for casuals, but I find it head-scratching that anyone who is a hardcore enough fan to have an account on here would want to go see a bunch of the greatest hits done over again. How is it perfect?

1. “Murders in the Rue Morgue”

Cool.

2. “Wrathchild”

Never need to hear this live ever again. It was a running joke for years that this song would be in the set or added back into the set to bump something better.

3. “Killers”

Worthy to put this back in, it’s been a while.

4. “Phantom of the Opera”

As above.

5. “The Number of the Beast”

They sorta have to play this. But it’s never actually worked live, Bruce has never been able to sing it like the album.

6. “Infinite Dreams” (first time since 1988)

LONG overdue. Should have been played in 2008, 2012 or 2018.

7. “Powerslave”

Fine, but hardly a deep cut anymore.

8. “2 Minutes to Midnight”

Their best straight ahead metal song, a must play.

9. “Rime of the Ancient Mariner”

Zzz. If you’ve seen this once ever it’s enough. They could be playing three other songs in the time it takes to play this. Especially the boring creaking boards section, why don’t they shorten that?

10. “Run to the Hills”

Zzz.

11. “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son”

Zzz. If you’ve seen this once ever it’s enough. They could be playing three other songs in the time it takes to play this. Especially the boring keyboard section, why don’t they shorten that? They actually play the middle section LONGER than the album, the song is two or three minutes longer than the album. That made sense on the Maiden England tour where it was the centrepiece of the show, it’s just wasted time here.

12. “The Trooper”

Boring. The noobs like it though, so they have to play it.

13. “Hallowed Be Thy Name”

Boring. Done on almost every tour.

14. “Iron Maiden”

This should have been dropped from the set decades ago. It’s such a dorky and simplistic song, from an era when Steve was still learning to write songs. The Beatles didn’t keep playing Love Me Do live, this should have been dropped years ago. I could name half a dozen more popular songs that would work better to close the main set.

15. “Aces High”

Bruce can’t sing it anymore. Shouldn’t be here.

16. "Fear of the Dark"

Snorefest, but again the kiddies like it.

17. "Wasted Years"

This was certainly a deep cut for about five tours 2000-2007 when they didn’t play it, but at this point they’ve done it to death. One of their best songs, no question, but who needs to hear it for the millionth time?
