1. “Murders in the Rue Morgue”
Cool.
2. “Wrathchild”
Never need to hear this live ever again. It was a running joke for years that this song would be in the set or added back into the set to bump something better.
3. “Killers”
Worthy to put this back in, it’s been a while.
4. “Phantom of the Opera”
As above.
5. “The Number of the Beast”
They sorta have to play this. But it’s never actually worked live, Bruce has never been able to sing it like the album.
6. “Infinite Dreams” (first time since 1988)
LONG overdue. Should have been played in 2008, 2012 or 2018.
7. “Powerslave”
Fine, but hardly a deep cut anymore.
8. “2 Minutes to Midnight”
Their best straight ahead metal song, a must play.
9. “Rime of the Ancient Mariner”
Zzz. If you’ve seen this once ever it’s enough. They could be playing three other songs in the time it takes to play this. Especially the boring creaking boards section, why don’t they shorten that?
10. “Run to the Hills”
Zzz.
11. “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son”
Zzz. If you’ve seen this once ever it’s enough. They could be playing three other songs in the time it takes to play this. Especially the boring keyboard section, why don’t they shorten that? They actually play the middle section LONGER than the album, the song is two or three minutes longer than the album. That made sense on the Maiden England tour where it was the centrepiece of the show, it’s just wasted time here.
12. “The Trooper”
Boring. The noobs like it though, so they have to play it.
13. “Hallowed Be Thy Name”
Boring. Done on almost every tour.
14. “Iron Maiden”
This should have been dropped from the set decades ago. It’s such a dorky and simplistic song, from an era when Steve was still learning to write songs. The Beatles didn’t keep playing Love Me Do live, this should have been dropped years ago. I could name half a dozen more popular songs that would work better to close the main set.
15. “Aces High”
Bruce can’t sing it anymore. Shouldn’t be here.
16. "Fear of the Dark"
Snorefest, but again the kiddies like it.
17. "Wasted Years"
This was certainly a deep cut for about five tours 2000-2007 when they didn’t play it, but at this point they’ve done it to death. One of their best songs, no question, but who needs to hear it for the millionth time?
