Oh, there'd be nothing wrong with playing Alexander again. But I just think it'd be too soon. I don't recall any situation like that. When they dust off a rarity, it has to wait a few years for another chance to be performed live. Althought I might be wrong, perhaps there's been a case that proves the opposite.

I wouldn't call AtG a "very" popular song. For many of us (including me) it's the Holy Grail of their work, but it's not really a hit.

I have a feeling that they finally played Alexander the Great because they "had to" do that. There were many occasions when they could have played it. Over the years, we heard lots of excuses and explanations. "Adrian doesn't remember the solo", "Bruce doesn't like the lyrics", stuff like that. It was the dream of the fans, but was it really their own wish? We got to hear it live and it was amazing. Somewhere in Time was my 1st Maiden album, Alexander was one of the very first songs that made me love the band. But despite the euphoria that we all witnessed back in 2023, it seems to me that Maiden weren't even focusing on the song in the interviews from that period. To me it was like "Yup, we finally did it, enjoy". Of course, I could be wrong, but that's the way I see it.

You're right about the fact that if they change songs for another leg it's always more than 1 rotation. I've never thought about that, but yeah, it makes sense.

I wish they swapped 2 Minutes to Midnight and Aces High for something else. The Evil That Men Do (the song which Steve would like to play, according to an interview from a few months ago) could easily replace any of them.

After the latest interviews, I think we'll get a couple of changes. The Greece hint is obvious. They'll play Alex. No need to tease us like that. I don't know about Infinite Dreams. They might rehearse it and drop it again. It's too difficult for Bruce and not a massive hit like Aces to justify it being played. Also, Steve wants to play Evil. I find it hard to believe that they'll swap 3 songs.
Realistically The Clairvoyant --> The Evil that men Do and 2 Mins or Aces --> Alex
My Dream scenario Murders -->Alex , 2 Mins --> Infinite Dreams, Aces --> Evil and of course open with Wrathchild and straight to Killers.
 
There will be changes. Otherwise there would be no reason for Bruce to say that on the red carpet.

Rime was being teased left, right and center before RFYL. "Favourite song", "Cast off the boat of the new IM tour" etc... Seventh Son also was to some extend. Bruce knows exactly what he is doing. Same happened with Stranger In A Strange Land before TFP. They will switch 2-3 songs and if they are smart, Aces High is one of them.

I said... If they are smart. But we all know the great stubborness of S. P. Harris and P. B. Dickinson. From a musical standpoint, Aces High should go.

That said, I wouldn't pay too much attention to artwork, because in 2022 tour artwork got changed last minute. It's a hint, but nothing certain.

Its true that the tour artwork has an spitfire so it would be weird not to play it. But it sounds awful. He cant sing this song at the end of the show. Is one of the hardest songs even for an opener,but i agree the dont want to xhange

Yes that would be worst. 2 epics like that in the same setlist is great. And we dont see ssoass played very often. Just 88 2013 and now.

Out of the Silent Planet was chosen as a single by the record company (if I remember correctly, the band wanted to release Brave New World instead), hence the band not having included it on the setlist for the tour. It was only played at 4 gigs in 2001.
 
I don't want them to drop the Clairvoyant anyway. It's likely that if they swap a song, it'd be that. I'd prefer the set to stay the same if that's the case. I really like that song and I don't really care for Infinite Dreams personally and I also saw Alex live many times. If they were to drop 2 mins on the other hand, it would be perfect for me
