The Pass

is very likely gonna be played every night and will be a tribute to Neil, as it fits the bill and was one of his favourite lyrics he's ever written.

Also,
Xanadu is pretty much confirmed, as Rik Emett revealed in an interview that both him and Alex are taking their Gibson EDS's on tour this year with their respective bands.
Those songs I've mentioned are on a playlist on Anika's personal spotify, where she has some Jeff Beck playlists as well. Also, By-Tor was added mid februrary, around the time in which Ged and Al told they just added another song to the setlist.

I don't know if that's a controversial opinion or not, but Rush sucks without Neil Peart (in any case) and it's not REAL Rush to me. Neil Peart made Rush to be real Rush.
They sucked in 1974 and they suck today with Anika.

I agree in terms of the music - the first Rush album was mostly terrible save for the cult classic that is Working Man. I have zero interest in new Rush music because the missing piece that made Rush great songwriters was always Neil.

Anika is a great drummer, I'm sure she'll play the songs we love very well. I'm not interested in paying $500+ to see them play without Neil, though.

I wouldn't say the sucked in 1974, but their first album (and to a certain extent some of the early material with Neil) sounds to me like wannabe Led Zeppelin rather than a band with its own personality.

I am not a fan of their idea of touring without Neil Peart under the Rush moniker, but I will reserve judgment until I see how they sound live on tour. :)

On a tour-related note, I bought the latest issue of Classic Rock yesterday and saw this ad.

"Wow!" I thought. They have sold out two gigs at the O2 and announced a third one "due to phenomenal demand".

So being someone interested in facts rather than bullshit, I decided to try and get tickets for those gigs at the O2 and guess what? There are many tickets available for Tuesday 16th March (below you can see the sections with tickets available, with the VIP, O2 Premium Seating, and resale ones removed).

What about the 18th March, I hear you ask? Similar story, although with fewer tickets available.

For the gig on Sunday 21st March, there are THOUSANDS of unsold tickets.

One has to love the little white lies of the music business!

I see them playing at the Brixton Academy with Sammy Hagar as supporting act :p

Very weird. If you use just Ticketmaster it IS sold out. This is what I see for 3/16:

But if you look on Axs, still plenty of tickets that don’t appear to be resale. Odd.
