RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

Hallowed and Infinite Dreams replaced with Running Free and Afraid to Shoot Strangers. Worst trade in history. And I like both songs we ended up with!
I've kicked myself for not making it out to Maiden England when it happened, but I almost feel worse for knowing what we as a fanbase didn't get now setlist-wise.

Looked at ticket prices for the venues closest to me and cheapest I saw was $150 for lawn seats. What the ever loving fuck is going on? So instead, wife and I used our “concert money” to go see Ghost next month. It’s a fair trade: I’ve seen Maiden five times and never seen Ghost.

Probably the best decision in your life, you will not regret it. Take my word for it.

Ghost's Skeletour is miles ahead of Run For Your Lives. A masterclass of arena concert production.
I'm not a fan of Ghost music, but their production is top-class. I've really enjoyed the Iron Maiden 2025 tour, but I think they let their fan down with a dull setlist. Being honest, apart from a few older songs, the whole repertoire was overplayed during many tours. Today, we can see not-so-good sales results for the 2026 dates. I wouldn't be surprised if the fans showed them a "yellow card", being annoyed with the band's playing round and around the same kind of stuff without any big surprise. Tickets are extremely expensive, and nobody wants to pay more and more for the same old shit.

It's an effective show (lights, effects with the bigger(?) screen), it looks wider, but it's the same template for them, nothing new. And it's not something unseen. For me, Maiden's one is better.
Sabatons stage show is now better than Maiden also.
Sabaton's new stage show is their best, more physical props (which is always cool, the big prop for the drums is what helps a lot), but Maiden have done this before, now they're trying something different. Theirs is bigger and they are going all out with the theatrics, even without a big screen. More pyro too. It looks epic. And it looks more impressive, like Helloween's new one (more lights and effects), which Maiden totally could have done. Maybe for the next tour. Manowar's stage production for their last tour is very effective.

And when the shows will be (close to) sold out by the time of the dates, everything will be cool, as always happens.
