RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

In my opinion, money should not be an issue or the main goal at this stage of their career. I'm sure all band members have much more than they (and their families) need for the rest of their lives. They should think of their fans and give them more new music, visit as many places as possible, and keep the ticket prices affordable for every fan. After all, it is the fans who make musicians famous, icons, or legends.

You underestimate how expensive those big TVs they have on stage are!

Sarcasm over.

Unfortunately the driving force behind pretty much everything in the world now is greed and maiden are no exception.
Why do they want more? Because they can.

I inherited a lot of money some time ago. You wouldn't believe how quickly it can disappear. And I didn't even buy anything special or live a very different life than before.
A few vacations without paying attention to prices, a divorce, and basically no longer paying attention to whether something is really the best offer. If I hadn't experienced it myself, I would never believe how quickly a large sum of money can be spent if you're not careful.

The show in Hannover sold fantastically well until the moment when two festivals were announced.

They should have chosen Wacken. Just 1 festival, not so soon after Hannover. It also would have been a perfect fit.
From the Wacken newsletter:

"The big anniversary is just around the corner: uncompromising metal on the field in Wacken for the 35th time. For the anniversary, we are bringing back bands that have left their mark on W:O:A for decades..."

OK, but the UK gig is their last in Europe next year. When Wacken will be about to begin, they will be playing on the other side of Earth. I think the last shows to be added to forthcoming European schedule, are Sweden Rock on 4th June, and Hellfest between 17th and 22nd June. Five days long gap is too much. Maybe they add Greenfield Festival just after Amsterdam. Aforementioned festivals are announced between November and December every year. I'm starting to believe there's no chance for Balkans show/s. So the negotiations must went wrong.

Someone posted on the fan club forum that Pula is off the table. (For the record - that's a rumour, but not official). I liked the idea of seeing Maiden in a small venue, especially one that's a Roman amphitheater - to the extent that I started looking into the travel logistics from Toronto. But I've been skeptical - how likely is it that the band would play 1-2 shows in a tiny venue, when the obvious goal is to play to casual fans in huge stadiums?

Yeah, Pula was just a rumour. Now they should announce more shows in the other parts of the world.

The only European shows they’ll announce are probably Hellfest & Sweden Rock. I think all the slow ticket sales will start to increase once more shows are announced, even the documentary coming out later this year.

The documentary will be published NEXT year (according to MH interview).

I never thought I would be in a position where going to see Maiden isn’t an instant yes.

Knebworth would be my gig, it would cost us about £350 for 2 tickets with parking to see a show I say a few months ago in London in a worse location

can’t say I am fussed about any of the support, it looks more like a rock band bill. Slayer’s bill for a similar gig in London would have been much better and worth it.

I always tried to see them both nights at the 02 gigs but this one feels different

That being said, i am sure it is inevitable that i’ll end up going as Maiden are my favourite band and you never know when will be the last time to dance with the greats

At the end of tour, there'll be 3 possibilities :
1. The end of Iron Maiden.
2. Playing a maximum of 20 concerts a year in this lineup from 2028 to 2029.
3. Two guitarists will retire and be replaced because they no longer wish to continue.

First option, but I think a lineup change is quite likely.

You could argue they hinted at studio time in the tour announcement, but it could simply be that they will be back on the road in 28 for one final tour.

WOW! Are these verified rumors? Why in spoilers? Such bad, sad and scary thoughts if true... I'm not ready.

Replacing more members (2 guitarists, Dave and Janick?) is what I really fear. I'd like to believe that's unlikely after Nicko. No longer wish to continue - I never thought about that for a Maiden member.

Ofc retire too.

Playing less shows per year should be the future. But I'm really worried, there were comments about new energy with Simon, but maybe Steve misses Nicko (and if he doesn't have desire for new music, which would be weird). If they return after 2027 for a 2-leg final tour with 7-10 expected classics again (and no new album), why taking a break? 2029/2030 is beyond our wildest dreams.

:S

I would be happy with the less shows a year plan, might mean bigger venues again though.

Not sure about the negative brigade on here liking the outlook no matter what though,
No new album= cabaret act.
New album= too long, boring overblown Harris stuff.
New tour= same old songs , too expensive , crap t-shirt , rubbish backdrop, Bruce is past it.
No new tour= how can they just walk away without giving us die hard fans one last hurrah apart from that Knebworth shite.

Sarcasm...maybe

Honestly, I don't think they'll retire. (unless there are health issues we don't know)
They are not even in their 70s yet. Dave and Adrian are pretty static on stage, anyway. Simon is younger. Steve is in great shape. Bruce is such a good singer, he can still deliver (maybe not songs like Aces High, but there is no need for that in 2028).
I think the end is near, but we are not there yet. This tour won't be the last. Maybe in 2030 or so, they'll retire. We just have to hope they stay healthy. That's the only parameter that could go wrong.
Saying all that, I'm sure that when they'll return in 2028, they'll play fewer gigs. This summer might be the last time they come to Greece for example, but Knebworth won't be the last UK show, for sure.

"3. Two guitarists will retire and be replaced because they no longer wish to continue."

If this happens, I’d say Maiden will lose all credibility and end up like one of those old bands drifting into obscurity after replacing almost all of their core members. All those speeches about camaraderie would be tossed straight into the bin—nothing personal, just business. Of course, I can understand it, but if such a move were made, their status as legends would be shattered.

I can actually picture it: around 2027–2028, Priest finally call it a day, and Mr. Harris rings up Richie Faulkner—‘Mate, you need a job?’ Ha, ha.
