My Skunkworks picks would be Back From the Edge and Strange Death in Paradise. Both are fantastic tracks, each with that breathtaking dramatic crescendo toward the end. Honestly, Skunkworks as a whole feels like a hidden pearl in Bruce’s catalog.

I’ve always loved Back From the Edge—it stirs up that deep, sentimental “paradise lost” feeling, like something vital has slipped away and can never quite be reached again.

Strange Death in Paradise, on the other hand, almost feels like a foreshadowing of The Chemical Wedding. Listening back now, it really struck me how much DNA it shares with what came later. The way it builds from the middle toward the end is exactly what hits me hardest—it pulls at those deep strings of the psyche, awakening that sense of something forgotten and unreachable, some eternal paradise lost.

Skunkworks is full of great songs and for me it always felt almost personal. Also dont forget about masterpiece - Im in a band with italian drummer ;-)

Chemical Wedding is obviously great metal album but I would take them both with me to deserted island. Shadow of the gods has for me similar feeling as Skunkworks.

im still amazed that in 2025 we’re talking about Bruce solo tour. Honestly I lost hope for that somewhere around 2015.
 
Venues are getting downgraded for Bruce's tour. At least in Chicago, he went from a 2,500 capacity venue to a 1,400 capacity.

Selfishly, this is great, as I prefer this specific smaller venue.

Not surprised. His solo career was put on hold for so long. Could also be mixed response to TMP. I wonder when Maiden officially calls it quits will British Lion and Bruce draw bigger crowds, assuming they are still active?

Bruce has cited Strange Death In Paradise as one of his favorites, so it has a chance. Any solo song will fit his live set.

Isn't it normal the crowds to be bigger in Europe? For Maiden too. And Bruce's solo career is not that popular compared to Maiden, I guess even his classics in the US. Plus he didn't tour solo in 20 years. Mixed response or not, I thought an album like TMP might appeal there. Bigger crowds in the future, let's see, but for popular solo artists it's different. Bruce can though. It's so amazing that he's doing solo tours while in Maiden!

Doubtful British Lion will draw bigger crowds. Two extremely forgettable albums and a bland band. You wouldn't be able to pick them out in a line up of one. I am sure Steve was hoping for something better than what they have achieved.

Bruce can probably do bigger, at least in Europe.
 
Just listened to Bruce’s Eternal. I honestly can’t understand how, in his right mind, he could include Devil on a Hog on the album and leave out this gem. M*er. Eternal is brilliant. Lyrically and thematically, it would’ve paired perfectly with Navigate the Seas of the Sun and given the album greater continuity. It would’ve strengthened and elevated the whole record. Devil on a Hog, on the other hand, is more in line with No Prayer, Tattooed Millionaire, or Balls to Picasso—it simply doesn’t belong on Tyranny of Souls. I’m pissed off. And to make it worse, I only have the original release, not the Japanese edition CD. :mad:

I'd rather have Devil on a Hog tbh. It's fun, whereas I find Eternal meandering. It's a fine song though, but ToS is first and foremost a fun sounding album and so I think he made the right call.

Eternal is on madrake? Lol for me has 2 songs the first 2 the rest i cant remembet de order og the songs. Face in thr mirror and so
 
He can play many songs from tyranny of souls kill devil hill (strange that didny make it ) souls intruders and the title track. Belivil and devil on the fog are a step behind. And so power of the sun and river of no return.
