Favourite Iron Maiden Epic (1980-1992)

Whole lotta songs on that list that shouldn't be there. Between the ones that should actually be on the list, for me it's between Seventh Son vs Rime. And I waffle on those two day to day.

Alexander for me. A perfect marriage of music and (admittedly a bit daft) lyrics. I also find it structurally and musically more interesting than its Peters, it's an adventurous arrangement with H and Nicko at the top of their game. Witnessing it live cemented my love for this epic.

Phantom and Rime are strong runner ups.

Hallowed pips Revelations. My opinion has gone to and fro on those over the years as to which is Maiden’s greatest song.

It's a pity The Angel And The Gambler only came out 6 years later. It would dominate this poll.

Without having TATG available I'll have to pick a lesser tune.

Ridiculously great list, with special focus on tracks like Phantom Of The Opera, Revelations, To Tame A Land, Powerslave, Alexander The Great, SSOASS and Infinite Dreams. But who am I fooling? It doesn't matter how good of a Maiden song you present me: if it isn't named Aces High I'll always prefer Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (and even in the case of Aces High it's a tie).

Difficult choice as that is a list full of absolute classics whether an epic or not technically. Phantom,Hallowed,Revelations, Powerslave, Rime are pretty much tied first for me.
