RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

Oh, please. No one singled you out, attacked you or requested you to leave. I literally said "Lastly, don't pay me any mind. Its late, I'm up and just venting." If your experience was truly spoiled by the new drummer, that's unfortunate and unintended. What do I know, I think Joe Holmes was a much better fit for Randy Rhoads' material than Zakk Wylde and I think Slash is vastly overrated as a player. Now, I can go into the musical reasons why I feel that way but that's another thing altogether.
Slash is another one that is now in autopilot mode. The solos during chinese democracy songs are way worst than the original in my opinion. Feels like he just pass over the solo.

In other news, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son from Glasgow is amazing (apart from an unusual hiccup from Dave at 32:20). I'd say this one is better than RAR 2014. This stage looks incredible indoors.

I laughed out loud, when H started counting himself in at 29:57 with an audience member.

Yeah Aces was the best it's been this year, but he's still struggling on the second half of the verse and can't hit the high notes in the chorus anymore. He's picked a different note in the chorus so that sounds fine, but it's definitely not perfect.

I also found the notice about the phones worked well. Very few phones out throughout the gig, only occasionally when Eddie came out did the numbers creep up.

I'm not offended, I'm just sad about how quick things go irrespectful and how is impossible to talk about anything.

We are here to discuss, argue and talk about the band and others opinions. I made a single post, talking ONLY about music, not a single personal reference or a bad word towards Simon or anyone, just to get all that "whining and complaining and all utter BS and I'm totally the only guitar player on this music forum I know what I'm talking".

Nothing said about the 2 Minutes Intro being just bad. Nothing about Seventh Son verse drums rhythm being totally changed and sounding like brazilian samba stuff. Nothing about how Rime has lost tons of his accents and many stuff that made it special, even the gong. Just bashing other opinions for the sake of it. "Stop whining, it sounds perfect to my expert musician ears, you don't know shit, Maiden couldn't get anything better".

Well? Okay I guess? Let's talk about each others "moaning" instead of discussing why something is played in a way instead of another, about Maiden having made the right choice or not or if we miss the gong.

Whatever.
Wow. For someone who's not offended, you sure do sound butthurt to me.

FWIW, I'm far from the only guitar player on this forum. I do play and have jammed before with much better musicians than myself; I would namecheck a few but then I'd REALLY sound like a douche. Let's just say that I understand at least a modicum of what professional musicians do when performing as part of an ensemble versus practicing alone in my room; it's a very different experience.

And no, I never claimed to be expert in anything, especially music. I AM a professional illustrator and am far better equipped to teach and mentor in that field; as a player, I'm likely high-intermediate level..? I can play "FOI" and just learned "POTO," for whatever that's worth. I can follow along with "The Daily Doug" when he breaks down a song and explains what Maiden are doing within a song. So yeah, I'm no expert but I do know a bit. And all I've tried to convey when someone whines - yes, whines - that Simon isn't as good as Nicko because his kit is smaller is that such talk is absolutely uninformed rubbish. Now, if you want to say that one plays more on top of the beat versus slightly behind or ahead, or one doesn't play the accented triplet following the quarter note resulting in less of the classic gallop rhythm you're used to hearing in "RTTH," to me that's what I would consider a more informed opinion and more worthy of discussion. Much of what you say is just opinion, ie "SSOASS" having a Brazilian samba rhythm. Trust, if Simon wasn't nailing the feel that Steve wants to hear, it would be worked on and adjusted. Because that's what professional drummers do.

But go on, if you feel that the intro to "2MTM" is "just bad"...who am I to try and change your view..? It's only the guy who wrote the riff playing it, who's a renowned perfectionist and isn't averse to stopping playing if he's not happy; what does he know..?

I'm a pretty decent guitarist of >25 years. I can rhythm like Jon Schaefer and lead like H. Not that it matters, but I think the band sound as tight as they ever have. Im5not sure why the intro to Waste Years is played so slowly, it's certainly not a difficult lick by any means. Apart from that, I think the band are being the best they can be for their milestone.

How many of these "other drummers" have played with the pressure of being behind the kit for the world's biggest heavy metal band, in front of 75,000 fans on their half-century anniversary homecoming concert?
For gods sake what difference does that make. If he cant handle that pressure then he shouldnt be there.
