I know that album was '87, but "1985–present" and this:

Don't tell me they're not 80's man.

GnR has Appetite For Destruction, nothing else, and should've died along with the 80s.

The Use Your Illusion albums are equally as good as AFD. I also like Chinese Democracy a lot, I just feel it should've been released under the name Axl Rose instead of GnR.

They're not 80's, man.

1985 was when they formed. This is like saying Maiden are a 70's band. They're most successful period was (at the beginning of) the 90's. Nirvana, were they an 80's band too? No. Metalllica & Megadeth, are they 80's bands? etc etc

Maiden didn't have an official release until 1980(besides one demo in late 1979) and didn't even solidify their lineup until the 80's either.

I understand what you're saying, but that doesn't exclude them from being lumped into movements in their respective time periods. I would agree with you if they had formed in like, '89 or so, but they are smack-dab in the middle of the 80's.
GnR was apart of that glam, hard rock trend that included bands like Motley Crue, who are most certainly an 80's band.

Nirvana, were they an 80's band too? No.

Nirvana formed in '87 and a vast majority of their music was released in the 90's, along with the fact they were in the grunge trend; of course they aren't.

Metalllica & Megadeth, are they 80's bands? etc etc

I would say yes. Both were formed in the early 80's, and were apart of the thrash movement that, obviously, blew up in the 80's. Just because they are still active and releasing music doesn't really excuse that.

I will postulate that you can hear the 80s in Sabaton, but you can't hear Sabaton in the 80s.
