Hi,

im just watching the 1985 concert in longbeach, live after death, and a couple of songs ago i saw Bruce playing a totally wicked XD les paul-like guitar, but extremer, does anyone know what kind of guitar that is? It looks so freaking wicked XD

[Edit],
oh, i remember wich song it was, Revelations, check the pic's.

never seen that guitar before, its like half les paul, and half explorer....kinda weird looking lol

While not identical, the heads are highly similar. I agree, it is likely to be a Dean guitar. However, the model bruce is playing and the model in the photo posted by kikithehead are different.

OJJVZ, perhaps you unaware that guitar companies make many models of guitars. It's just like cars: the appearance has nothing to do with the manufacturer, although many manufacturers do include visual trademarks on their products.

Finally, I checked the booklet from my Live After Death vinyl, which lists all the equipment for Murray, Smith, Harris and McBrain. While Dickinson's guitar is not listed, it's worth noting that both Murray and Smith used Dean guitars on that tour. If they each had one, why not Bruce? Heck, maybe the guitar played by Bruce actually belonged to Murray or Smith.

After looking for about 2 minutes at the above pic =P i saw 2 wings, or something, on the head, so its probably indeed a Dean, but with a different (custom?) headstock.
and yes, i am aware that they make many models, but the headstock didnt remind me at all of dean, and didn't look like the Dean Cadillac 1980's head, in the first place.

Murray used deans? You only see him on stage (i havn't seen all the concerts ofcourse =P) with his Fender Strat, i tought.

By the way, do you know what types of Dean's Dave and Adrian had?

If you follow the link I gave, you can see that the pic is a reproduction of a classic Dean design.

ohkay, that explains the different head, i like bruce's headstock better.. still cool model tho.

The Live After Death booklet says :
DM : 1 Dean V Flame (Flame top)
AS : 1 Dean Baby ML (Sunburst)

hehe, its no V, nor a Baby ML, weird =P
