Why "Final Frontier"?

I think the idea of Eddie on the cross is lame.  Who cares if Maiden offends people.  The biggest offense is indifference, and the fact that Maiden simply go about doing what they do without trying to provoke a reaction is a testament to their integrity.  I don't think i'd respect a band that lives to just piss people off.  It's a counter action that is as hollow as the people who called them devil worshippers in the first place.  And at this point, there is nothing left to prove.  However, IF the idea was well thought out, not anti religious for the sake of it, then I could probably see it being a pretty cool image in general.

It's all moot anyway. You've summed up the kind of good people Maiden are and they don't seek out adversity so this will never happen. Personally, I'd love to see them have a go at the right the way they did with Holy Smoke. Not a great song at all but it was a vicious assault on the TV Evangelists and I'd kill to see some more of that...with better songs :)
