Which Maiden album had the biggest "grower" effect on you on the long run?

The TRUE Dick Brucinson
Which Maiden album had the biggest "grower" effect on you? For me, it was definitely NPFTD, which is my fave Maiden album for years yet, as some of you may know. I really didn't like it when it came out because it felt like such a drop from the massive productions previously, SSOAS & SIT in particular.

You can also extend this question to Bruno's solo albums if you may.

The X Factor

Took a few years before I came to appreciate it. I won't say it flew up the rankings table, but there's the bones of a good record there, and I think if you had have recorded it with Shirley and the current line up then it would be up to the standards of the reunion era albums.

What is fun for me and show a big balls back in they day by steve is that grunge was all over the world, your singer has gone and is one of the best of the history and you recruit blaze wich is ok im not going to critize the decision but your come back is record one of the darkest records in metal. Shows a lot what he thinks of being comercial or doing music for being on the radio.

Killers and the debut. I couldn't really get into them initially and I still have my misgivings with how the first one sounds, but they've certainly gone up the ranks since. Killers especially, it went from an album I wouldn't really listen because while it was fine it didn't really click, to an album I put on occasionally and very much enjoy. In fact as of the past few years, it's probably my most listened 80s Maiden album.

Skunkworks. I thought it was quite crap the first few times I heard it, but it grew on me over time and I don't mind it as much now.

TFF, especially The Talisman. When I first heard it, I found it long and boring. After a couple of years, it became a top-3 song for me. One of the most extraordinary songs I have ever heard. Westward the tiiiiide.... Sail by the Talismaaaan!

It's honestly Piece of Mind. I always said that SIT, SSOASS, BNW and AMOLAD are my favourites, but in recent years PoM is in my top 3 easily.
TFF is another one. I hated it when it came out. Now, I hate it a bit less. I mean, I thought it was worse than the Blaze era and the 90s in general. Now, it's a bit better than the 90s for me. Still the worst reunion album imo

X-Factor made the biggest leap - while listening to it only very irregularly during my youth (and rarely in its entirety), it has become one of my favorite albums (TOP 5) over the last five years. Another leap (a smaller one, yet a significant one) did SIT - I always liked it but now it's my favorite Maiden album with Dickinson.

This is a tough one. There are several albums that didn’t click with me the first time. I fell asleep during The Final Frontier and The Book of Souls.

I will go with Live After Death. I got this album quite late in my fandom. I had been a fan since 1999 and didn’t get it until 2008. To be honest, I didn’t really like it. Bruce’s voice and ‘Yeahs!’ grated on me. I suppose I grew up with post-reunion Bruce. I didn’t get the hype.

Over the years I have come to appreciate it more. Instrumentally the performances are amazing. The production is probably the best of any Maiden album as well.

I can imagine this blowing your mind in 1985. Similar to how Rock in Rio blew my mind in 2002.

I always find TNOTB and POM a bit old and with powerslave i find that the 3 albums has bad fillers but BIG classics. And SIT is more round album. But his biggest album and for me they have a round album is SSOASS
