Where to get good sounding Maiden albums?

I've just recently started listening to these guys, mostly all on youtube. From what I've heard, they are very good and I want to get some more of their music. I got one remastered album ('98 or '02) and noticed like many others that it suffers from not great production and over loudness and meshing together. I was wondering if any of you know where I can find cd's for not too much that offer great sound.

Thanks everyone!  :shred:  :shred:  :shred:

ebay, music selling sites (like Gemm.com), or any local used CD/record shops that sell used CDs are probably your best bets.

Which remastered album did you listen to?

What's wrong with the remasters? They sound great to me...

Plenty.  The remasters sound absolutely atrocious to my ears.  The two biggest offenders being Piece of Mind (sounds muddy and lacking definition compared to the original) and Somewhere in Time.

If you can find anything released pre-remasters whether it's the original issues or the 95 sets I'd suggest getting those.  They are sonically superior in every single way.

All of the remasters sound good to me, considering I never owned original versions (I only heard them in mp3 format). I tend to buy only the latest remasters/deluxe editions.

As mentioned numerous times before, Japanese Black Triangle editions are the best sounding Maiden releases (in terms of engineering/dynamics) out there.

I own three versions of POM and the 98 remaster just sounds louder , but not in a death magnetic shitty way.

It doesn't sound like there are pillows covering your speakers?  That's how my remasters sound.

Not to mention the Trooper/Still Life screw up and the Powerslave intro getting cut off.
