what do you think of the upcoming anniversary TNOTB cassette release?

1) they don't have a hell of a lot of archive material

Depends from when.
The info that was passed around, since 2004 preserves everything on hard drives. 100% of shows since DoD should be archived. This might also apply to the video feeds.

So they could give us live from multiple high profile tours - Eddie Rips up The World, A Matter of Life and Death tour, the pre-release part of Final Frontier tour are a no brainer.

They also probably have multiple shows of the earlier days (90s) fully archived, f.e. Milano 1999 is a source of two B-sides and it's a great performance overall (the show has a A grade audience bootleg), 1993 where they compiled live from multiple available shows, the Blaze years when they also released live B-sides from various shows.

This is where Steve confuses me. I have a feeling that Maiden won’t release lots of this archival material because Steve is such a perfectionist. He may not be happy with the quality of some performances. However there have been a number of releases that don’t match this attitude. I’m thinking Nights of the Dead, the DOD artwork and the production of the Blaze albums.

Me too, but I don't get how can perfectionism be the reason, because the standard of reunion performance is very high.
If Man on the Edge and WY from Milano can be released, so can the rest of the show.

There are absolutely on fire bootlegs from reunion era. There are no errors and the playing is tight and energy high as fuck.

I mean check out the partial footage from Argentina 2004, songs like No More Lies, tell me that's not release-worthy.

I’d love to see some re-releases of stuff like ARLDO, Donington ‘92, The First 10 Years Boxset, and the Soundhouse Tapes. Re-releasing that stuff in a “new” edition would give some of us who didn’t buy it originally a chance to own it, and would not devalue the original releases. They did that with Eddie’s Archive.

Basically I want as much fucking Iron Maiden as possible because I have a shelf full of Maiden shit and it needs more stuff on it.

What's interesting about the cassette reissue is that they've gone with the original 'incorrect' blue colour palette instead of the corrected gray of the post '98 versions.

would you mind posting some inside booklet pics from the cassette?
