What do you reckon the last thing we need from Maiden next year is...

It looks like Iron Maiden will release another compilation. I can't wait for it. I already have Edward the Great and I really don't need another.

Untold amount of bannings from the moderators: Undisclosed amount.
A blatant message from one moderator to tell you you're not welcome: Another undisclosed amount.
One simple message from thousand_suns: priceless.

:D

Seeing the reactions of the mods gave me such a laugh last night.  And so did thousand_suns'  usual comments, but in a different, how-can-anyone-be-such-a-fucked-up-retard way.

Topic pinned. thousand_suns kicked. I have NO clue how he could ever post here again. He is so banned it's not funny anymore.

This is being dealt with.  I promise.

For now...topic closed.

Everyone ignore it.  Maybe it will go away.

Can someone fill me in (via PM if you don't want to terrorize the mods again :D) on what thousand_suns did? He's some kind of a troll?

1. He has an annoying habit of bumping long-dead topics and saying something completely trivial

2. He posts long-dead football scores in the Football thread...for what reason, we can't say

3. He posts about twenty questions in the trivia section at once, without letting other people answer

4. He ends just about every post with an attached picture (parodied here)

5. He also has a habit of posting, then deleting his post after someone replies, then reposting exactly the same thing

6. He was warned by the mods about his (rather bizarre) behaviour, which was getting on everyone's tits.  But he ignored all the shots across both bows, and kept on coming back after he was banned.

7. Statements like this
"Powergirl81,
I can't believe that you really admire this song. For your information I admire The Wicker Man only after I bought Brave New World a year after it was released. The Wicker Man is a great song."

I'm sure some of the mods can elaborate. :D

EDIT: Actually, the more I think about it, the more his behaviour really reminds me of some kind of malfunctioning android.  Perhaps a bit like Ash out of Alien, after he has the crap beaten out of him by Parker.  He seems to be spewing random illogical statements, as if the ban on him has slowly drained away his energy reserves, and he's about to self-terminate with a 'Does not compute' *attaches picture of computer*.

I post that which I need to post.  It is important to me how you think of me.  Since my reinstallation of this forum I am feeling I have almost forgot the rules.  To me, you, Raven, are of the most important.  Thank you for answering questions from gulranek.  I do not listen to what people post of me.

My alltime favourite thousand_suns post:

Ever heard of Immortal, a Norwegian black metal band?
Although I am not a black metal fan but today I watched 2 videos from Immortal on YouTube entitled Call of the Wintermoon and Blashyrkh. It is also the first time I watched black metal videoclips on that site.
When I watched both videoclips I cannot even understand what the singer Abbath Doom Occulta (Olve Eikemo) says. What I cannot bear is his own voice.

What, would you like the whole saga?

Let me tell you a story to chill the bones
About a user I saw
One night typing late on Maidenfans
I'd one drink and want more

I was rambling, enjoying the bright new light
From Mav'rick a-flaming
Not aware of a poster far away from me
Who was mindlessly posting

Feeling scared I scrolled to the bottom
As a new post lighted the forum
Took me to an unholy place
Because thousand_suns has an ugly face

Then he summoned me over to join in with him
In the dance of the dumb
Into the circle of stupid with him
Into the middle I was drug

You have not been "reinstalled", asshole.
You are still banned.
And once we figure out how you hacked your account to get back in, we'll be reporting your illegal activities to the proper authorities.
I hope you get cornholed in prison several times a day, you scum-covered bucket of baboon piss.

Let them do their next (and supposedly last) studio album, and then that might be appropriate.

Is there any viable fact that marks their next album as the last one?

I don't think i've seen any official interview or anything alike pointing to anything with even superficial resemblance to the fact that our dearest band is going to stop releasing new material in 2-3 years.

I mean, if some nasty pessimistic people think they're going to quit, i say - take a look at the Rolling Stones. They are not an metal act, but they're a band of planetary fame (like Maiden), their shows are energetic even today (like Maiden's), and they're 13 year older as a band. They have released their latest studio album in 2005, and it's not going to be their last.

I'd say, we'll get two-three more studio albums from Maiden, if everything goes ok (no-one quits the band, no creative crissis, positive trend of critics alike current period, 1999-). IMHO. They won't embark on gigantic world tours when they hit their '60s, probably the music will change also (don't expect raw power from Nicko, expect more variety in rhythm, more progressive stuff), their setlist is probably going to drop in numbers, but they're not going to quit on us anytime soon ;)

Regarding the topic, we don't need any "best of". I would appreciate official, mastered release of materials that can be found only as bootlegs, such as RIR '85, Donington '88, Spectrum show from the SIT tour...even a collection of smaller, "secret" gigs, studio sessions and stuff would be nice.

And yeah, i'd like another album of Bruce, this time again with H.

Shortly after the release of AMOLAD, I recall reading an interview with Steve (sorry, can't remember where) in which he said that the next (15th) album could very well be the last. He stated that from the very earliest days he had envisioned Maiden as a 15-album band, so when they do the next album he will have effectively completed his life's main goal, and thus possibly be ready to retire.

This doesn't mean that the next album will be the last, but it points that way.

And a strange side note:
I've just realized that I now think of the latest album's title as the word "AMOLAD", not the phrase "A Matter Of Life And Death". These forum acronyms are corrupting my brain. Hmm... maybe at work tomorrow I'll listen to "fot-dee".

Somehow I don't think they want to play music into their 60s.  I just have a hunch.

Ah great!  60 Euros for 10 songs.  -_-  How can this get any better?  (Maybe those 10 songs are singles  :D)

And SMX,  I remember reading an interview of Harris claiming the exact same thing,  but for a 14 studio album career.

Well, the show itself will be about two hours hopefully; does it matter if it's many short songs or less long ones?  I personally would really like to hear Alexander the Great, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and Heaven Can Wait all in the same set. :)
