Imagine if a Dem president said "fuck" publically, let alone "praise be to Allah" on Easter (or at all). But since hypocrisy is baked into conservatism, the cult will simultaneously deflect, deny and celebrate this.

Turns out MAGAts have no issues with theocracies, as long as its their own flavour.

Liberals usually have no issues with things that other liberals do as well. They defended Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky scandal, but if Trump did the same thing, they would be all over him. The left defends the left and the right defends the right.

Clinton had an affair with a consenting adult
Trump raped underage girls, women and was found guilty of over 34 felonies. OH, and before you say, "Clinton was also on Epstein's island," yes, he was and should be dealt with accordingly, just like Trump.

That's not true and easily disprovable. The Epstein files are the perfect example. Of course there are some people who treat the Dems the same way the right does Trump, but whenever people mention Clinton with regards to the Epstein files the majority of people say "okay? throw him in jail as well". The left tries to hold Democrats accountable. The right never does that with their own. There are worlds of difference between those sides.

Edit: The fact that your example for the left is an affair that happened almost 30 years ago says a lot, right? Trump has broken literal laws and has been impeached. He has committed dozens, if not hundreds of offenses that would've warranted further impeachments. He has broken basically all rules of decorum. And that's before we even touch the whole Epstein saga. He's literally a felon. That's in no way the same as the Dems.

Look at stuff like Nancy Pelosi insider trading. You can read comments on social media, and you'll quickly see that most people on the left are condemning her for it. Some politicians like Bernie, AOC or even Obama might have a bit of a cult of personality, but on average I'd definitely disagree that this is a "each side protects their own" thing.

Edit: To be fair though, about the "consenting adult", I suppose that could be argued. Due to the power imbalance between them and her being relatively young when that happened, it's difficult to say with a 100% certainty that she was a consenting party. To be honest I haven't looked too much into that whole scandal and it's been a while since I read up on it. It's close to 30 years ago and Clinton hasn't been relevant in a while. The world has changed drastically since then and politics have as well. It's obviously still a far cry from anything Trump has done. Just wanted to offer some of that pesky nuance :D

Thanks, I'll give it a watch later! I just remember her floating the idea of "abuse of power" at some point, but as I mentioned, I'm not really up to date on that story. That makes the whole thing even less fitting for a comparison with Trump.

Well, there's a lot at play. Never mind the boss/employee power dynamic, he was the president of the U.S.... Yikes! Then the age gap dynamic, his track record as a womanizer, harasser, rapist, etc. There's a double edge sword with people in their early 20s. Again, paraphrasing her words in the video, "Who hasn't made a mistake they regret in their 20s?" People are legal adults, but still impulsive, still psychological children. Sure they can make their own decision's, but can an older person, let a lot one in a powrful position use that as an excuse to take advantage of that? People say, "Oh they knew what they were doing," but on the other "They were young and stupid..." Quite complicated
