Wishful thinking, i.e., he had previous experience with the blob he wouldn't do the same mistakes (he did way worse and counting).
He had a very strong mandate and popular support, plus Supreme Court and all, frankly if anyone could change anything since FDR that should be him. Plus that he didn't start new wars then. And Biden was a total disaster in my book.

I was watching Hilary talking the other day, such a disgusting hawk it's terrifying. There is not a single man on each party that would inspire me hope that things would be less hawkish next time. If Democrats win we get a war with Russia, if Republicans we get a war with China.

Not me. I had almost irreversibly lost faith during the 12-day war; it was obvious where things were heading. I simply waited for him to complete one year in office, as I had promised earlier in this thread.

*Well, to be totally honest, I did wait for an eleventh hour miracle from January 20th to February 28th, though not holding my breath by any stretch of the imagination.
Best thing he can do for his base and the world is die.
 
No5. He barely won the election electorally and didn't win the majority of the vote. More people voted for other candidates than voted for Trump. The House majority is slim and the Senate majority isn't big either. Obama his first few months had a massive mandate though with a Super majority. Trump having a mandate is another spin, another lie. He had a mandate from his MAGA supporters, and even that is waning now.

Yes, but when you consider everything that was thrown at him during the two-year election campaign, one case after another, along with the sustained media attacks his victory was quite significant. His mandate appears strong, in that context.

That has exactly nothing to do with a mandate to effect a change. But his victory was an impressive comeback, I give you that.

Seems to fail to consider that he was running against an administration with an approval in the mid-30s though, no? The election was easily winnable/losable for both parties. Biden - had he stayed as the candidate - had internal numbers showing he wouldn't have even crossed 175 electoral votes.

I think it does. Nothing is just numbers, there's a background stoty behind. A similar victory between 2 other candidates in a normal race wouldn't be significant probably but under the circumstances Trump won, it was a big thing and so I call it and I consider it a very strong mandate. As do many other observers.

It appears James Talarico is enroute to winning the Texas Senate primary over Jasmine Crockett. The Republicans will go to a runoff with Cornyn currently holding a slight lead over Paxton. Fully expect Paxton to win the runoff, but there's going to be a lot of money being thrown at Republican vs Republican in late-May.

You can't just make up new meanings for words, no5 to try and rationalize your falling for a narrative. And by observers, you mean propagandanists, or people sucking up. Their claims are just as untrue as yours. An untruth (lie) is an untruth no matter how many repeat or believe it. By zero actual metrics does this constitute a mandate. Biden had more of a mandate his first two years, because he won a clear majority of the voter rather than Trump's plurality.

Yup, Talarico won. Really happy with that. Let's see how that'll affect the GOP, I want them to have to spend millions to deal with this.

I'm from Spain and I'm very proud of what the government said about it!
Not the same with the quiet and coward prime minister of Germany. He must have stopped the madman and defend Europe and Spain as well the `stupid island' of UK. But maybe he's worried trying to still selling cars there
