Yep. Trump is awful, but he got the hostages out for Israel and helped to get the right countries together to potentially rebuild Gaza for the better, and he deserves to be praised for that.Credit is given where credit is due.

Yes, the Trump administration hopefully didsomething real good here, unless it falls apart during the implementation or in the aftermath. But at the very least, the remaining hostages have been released along with a vast number of imprisoned palestinians.Yep. Agreed! We should never forget that piece of shit who was Henry Kissinger being awarded the Nobel peace prize in 1973!

Exactly this. If Palestine has not been officially recognised or completely absorbed by Israel, this “peace deal” is only a ceasefire. It might last a decade, or a century, but there is no peace. While a peace deal is better than continuing the genocide it kinda seems to me that it's only come about because there's basically nothing left to bomb. Gaza is absolutely destroyed, nearly 70 thousand people killed. Isreal got what they wanted and don't seem to have conceded anything in this deal. They still don't want to recognise a Palestinian state from what I read.
We know from history how fragile these deals can be, someone will throw a rock at a wall and Benji will decide it justifies another year of carpet bombing.
All the while Trump is crying about not getting his Nobel prize, while he bombs boats and has masked goons grabbing people in the streets on a daily basis.
My guess is it fires up right around the time Trump needs to start declaring war to secure a third term. Just a hunch.Given the history of ceasefires in this specific conflict and Israel's long history of violating ceasefire agreements I very much doubt that we'll get a decade of peace out of this. I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts less than a year.
I already saw a video online where hamas executed several Gaza civilians who were kneeling down—supposedly after the truce. Come on.Praising Trump for this ceasefire is like thanking a serial killer for stopping stabbing you. His (and every previous) administration still facilitated the billions of $ in weapons that Israel used to wipe out nearly 100,000 civilians.
Feel free to explain a realistic alternate scenario that would have freed all the hostages and ended the fighting without involving Trump, then.Praising Trump for this ceasefire is like thanking a serial killer for stopping stabbing you. Easy. Israel recognizes Palestinian state and releases the prisoners/hostages they have. Insant peace.Feel free to explain a realistic alternate scenario that would have freed all the hostages and ended the fighting without involving Trump, then.
Hilarious. You think the people who want to drive Israel into the sea would just shrug their shoulders and give back all the hostages if Israel unilaterally gave up? You have a shockingly high opinion of Hamas.Easy. Israel recognizes Palestinian state and releases the prisoners/hostages they have. Insant peace.

That’s also not a realistic scenario because after October 7 Israel would never allow Hamas to operate in an independent state on their immediate border. Try again.
It sounds as if you think that the Israeli state was happy for Palestine and Palestinians to exist pre October 7th 2023. They were not. And they will not be going forward. That’s also not a realistic scenario because after October 7 Israel would never allow Hamas to operate in an independent state on their immediate border. Try again.
Not surprising.I won't.
I’m neither of those things. There's no way Israeli and MAGA lovers will see reason anyway.
Not surprising.
I’m neither of those things.
So, basically, you have no other answer, but you’re unable to walk and chew gum at the same time by acknowledging that Trump accomplished something here while still being a piece of shit overall.
This is actually a good litmus test for one’s own intellectual honesty. So far I’m not surprised by who’s failing the test.
Nope. Not happy, but at least more tolerant of the concept overall. It sounds as if you think that the Israeli state was happy for Palestine and Palestinians to exist pre October 7th 2023. They were not. And they will not be going forward.
Yep.The mans a fucking ghoul. His speech in the Knesset was sickening, as is much about the man.
And of Hamas rounding up and shooting non-loyalists. All the more reason to get third-party peacekeepers in there ASAP.Reports already of Israel shooting civilians since the ceasefire started.
Now that the live hostages have all been returned, that becomes possible.Do I have a fully fledged solution for peace in the region? No. But as a start I think its imperative that the biggest cunt in the room takes its foot off the other guys throat.
