I can imagine I'm one of those on your ignore list, but in case I'm not:Likewise. I have only had brief forays into this thread but I can see why other posters have given up on it when seeing the extreme views of many who would ironically categorise themselves as being on the kind and compassionate side of politics. And to think these people still can't figure out why their side is losing elections the world over. But, alas, they will bury their heads in the sand, blame the 'literal Nazis and fascists' (the threshold for this qualification seems to be getting lower by the year) and call everyone who disagrees with them morons or, worse still, claim the world is a better place when people who disagree with them are killed.
Charlie was a fucking nazi, that's not up for debate. Look at what he was saying. He was a white supremacist. He was an anti-semite. He was preaching hate against every minority. He was advocating for the violent eradication of trans individuals.
Educate yourself on the paradox of tolerance instead of clutching your pearls just because people aren't mourning over a genuinely evil human being dying.
Edit: Also it's fucking rich to claim the posts in this thread were extreme, while actively downplaying the legacy of a literal far right extemist. None of Kirk's viewpoints are even close to being mainstream. All his positions were extreme.
Provocative question: Would you have posted this comment if Hitler died and people were happy about said death?
