USA Politics

Fact free living! I can walk out of this seventh story window because gravity doesn't mean shit!

I don't know, but they have a lot of good stuff about Trump. But you'll all probably be against any good stuff about him since you seem to enjoy digging up dirt on him. :p

Nobody's digging up dirt on Trump. The dirt is piled up on the surface in plain sight for everyone who's not closing their eyes to it.

Been listening to a lot of conservative pundits recently. Milo Yiannapoulos, Ben Shapiro, Ann Coulter, Paul Joseph Watson the whole deal. It's been pretty hard as there's so much bullshit they spew, but the consensus I've gotten is that these people don't really approve of (or care about) Trump's behaviour, personality or business practices. They're strictly concentrated on his policies on immigration and trade and seem to block out everything else.

It could be a five year old in place of Trump, and the conservative pundit gang would still continue to support him as long as immigration and trade policies were in place. That's not a good thing to do, that sort of pragmatic approach usually results in the brewing of other huge problems.

Yep. The guy kept shooting himself in the foot in the election campaign but still somehow got the presidency. He will continue to shoot himself in the foot, you don't really need to do any exploration.

There's no need for digging up dirt about a man who uses Twitter to tell a court that he'll see them in court. And who after signing an order he knew was controversial, complains about the controversy.

It's not just that, Flash. The right still thinks they can get Trump to rubber-stamp anything they want to pass through Congress. Once Trump has had his 100 days and settles down, you'll see Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell start to figure out stuff they want passed. The pundits are willing to wait.

Any guesses on what those stuff might be? Throwing anti-climate change policies in the trashcan and giving the energy sector more freedom is an obvious one, I guess.

The top priority is presumably getting rid of Obamacare. But the timing of the repeal and whether or not there is a replacement (and what the replacement is) will be important.

Definitely getting rid of Obamacare is something a lot of people expect to see. I more expect to see a rebranding and medium-level changes to the program, based on the resistance to change right now that is starting to grow.

Priorities are going to depend on Trump's tax plan, but I suspect the old favourites will come out - cut taxes on the rich, try to get rid of the estate tax. I suspect Social Security will be gutted for future generations (and I am not just talking an adjustment like raising the retirement age to 67 or something). An increase in US military spending is certainly on the table.

CNN hit the panic button on Bernie Sanders and cut him off after he joked that "Trump may have been watching CNN fake news" during a live interview. Because they cut him off, he couldn't even acknowledge that he was making a joke :D

In a time when it might be pretty hard to keep track of what's real news or not, what's an opinion, who's a pundit, etc etc, I saw this the other day and I like his recommendations. Might be preaching to the choir but hey.
