I admit to being both a cynic and a gun advocate. I'm a cynic because we can discuss this issue until we're all blue in the face and yet I think we all know that in the end not a whole lot is going to change. And I share some responsiblity for that unfortunate fact because when I cast my vote for a political candidate I'm much more interested in their stances on things like the national debt, taxes, the U.S.'s relationships with other countries ( both allies and especially the one's that don't seem to like us), etc. A candidates views on guns to me is about as important as their religious views or who they married. Besides it really doesn't matter who the candidate is I already know that they're lying to me. They'll say what they think I want to hear to get my vote and then after the election they'll do what the lobbyist's or their own party leaders tell them to do. Of course when they piss me off I just vote against them the next election cycle, which in this country never seems to end. I'm not ashamed to say I'm a gun advocate. I was raised around guns and not only taught how to use them but more importantly I was taught te respect what they could do. Guns are not toys, unfortunately a lot of younger kids only experience with them seems to come through playing video games. They don't seem to realize that in real life you can't just hit the restart button, in real life the game is really fucking over. At the same time you'll never hear me argue that everyone should have a gun because there are some people for what ever reason should never be around one much less possess one. Of course I also think that some people should'nt be allowe to drive a vehicle either but that's another story. I don't care if you agree or like my opinion on the subject, you can have your's and I'll have mine. But at least I'm honest and upfront with you about it.
