UK Politics

I am not condoning some of Corbyn's dubious choices but there is a big difference you forgot to mention: Thatcher was a Prime Minister. Corbyn isn't.

Is Corbyn not trying to become Prime Minister? What purpose does pointing that fact out serve here, exactly? Yeah, Thatcher was a PM, Corbyn isn't one yet. And?

Not sure why you responded to my criticism of Corbyn by pointing out Thatcher, anyway. Do you assume that everyone that critiques a Labour candidate is a supporter of Conservatives? And not only that, but all Conservative leaders of the past?

I would say there is a bit of a difference between making positive comments about some dubious people with whose policies you might agree with (and I do not condone those comments) and supporting dubious people while you are Prime Minister and keep on doing so after that. I might be alone in thinking this though.

She is probably one of the main causes of many of the troubles that plague the UK nowadays (and I experience some of them every day, particularly in the education sector). Some of the points made in the Labour manifesto under Corbyn are trying to fix those problems. I'd rather have a stronger state (e.g. like in Germany) than what we currently have in the UK.

That being said, although I do not agree with Margaret Thatcher's politics, she seemed to be significantly more principled than the clown we have as Prime Minister now.

Obviously not, as there are lots of Labour supporters that critique this Labour candidate or have critiqued Labour candidates in the past. I am sure there are even people in Ankara who might despise Margaret Thatcher. ;)

Some sort of stabbing/shooting/major incident going on in the London Bridge area, and some scary vids featuring armed police on social media. Nothing to do with Brexit, although someone will probably manage to link the two.

Someone like you

It will surely play a role in the General Election campaign though. The Conservatives are the party of law and order, while Jezza is a terrorist sympathiser.

Jo Cox was murdered
That was in the 2016 referendum campaign. The day after the vote Nigel Farage proudly proclaimed that the UK had decided to leave the EU without a drop of blood being spilt.

There were a couple of terrorist attacks in Spring 2017 though. The suicide bombing right after the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester and some stabbings in London on a Saturday night.

And almost the murder of several Maidenfans!

I will forever remembering wandering London in the aftermath of the Manchester bombing.

I thanked them, I didn't congratulate them.
Too right, it's not an achievement.

This week in Snap General Election Land, a couple of amusing stories have come out.

For example, the Lord Mayor of Belfast and Sinn Feinn candidate for Belfast North John Finucane (the man who @Niall Kielt will be voting for) has apologized for urinating in the street on a Saturday at the end of June. He was spoken to by police after pissing in public on his way home from a social event.

In Scotland, an SNP candidate got the wrong name of the constituency he wishes to represent.

Apparently Finucane pished outside his own offices, then unlocked the door and went inside. Must have know he wasnt gonna make it. Anyway, given all the ill shit that politicians get up to, a public pish is not something to lose sleep over. And, this election is a case of getting the DUP out so Sinn Fein could put a lamp post up as candidate and I would still vote for it.

Great distracting attempt Black Wizard. Well, I concur for once. If you do not want to hear bad words about Tories, fuck it then.

For your and other people their delicate soul, I have deleted it. That video was brilliant though.

Such a superb analysis. And what a marvelous catharctic delivering that was.
