Why don't you want SIASL to win? I really hope it's not because you like its opponent better.

Even if a solo feels not complete, that's not the point of this game. This solo stands on its own facing an opponent. A vs B.
Just choose between the two, thank you very much. So: which one do you like more?
 
SIASL > Powerdave #1
SIASL < all Powerslave solos combined

It is faced against the former so SIASL wins. Me not wanting SIASL to win does not mean I like Powerdave more.
 
But this match = SIASL vs Powerdave #1 (not the 2nd you mentioned). So I still don't see why you do not want SIASL to win in this match.
(This tournament is about solos, not complete solo/instrumental sections.)

Foro, I think what he is trying to say is what many others have been saying. The WHOLE Powerslave solo break is the best ever, but because it is compromised of 3 distinct solos, none of which on their own are better than Adrian's SIASL solo, ( by consensus vote ) the SIASL solo wins. If we were doing a game with complete solo breaks, Powerslave would win hands down and would get my vote even over ATG or SIT which would probably come in second and third. This is an individual solo contest so Adrian will probably win. I think you know I have been very open minded and unbiased throughout this game given my screen name. I'm just telling it like it is.

He doesn't want SIASL to win because he WISHES this game was about whole solo breaks.
 
I see! How harsh it may sound, the whole solo break discussion has nothing to do with the voting. It was a bit distracting, for me at least.

More important: as long as Saap and everybody else prefers one solo over the other I'm fine.
 
Stranger. Powerslave is cool, but loses some of the magic without the rest of the instrumental section. In the end this wasn't as hard as I suspected.

But neither is my all-time favourite. If I had my way, Different World would probably be No 1. :shred:

See? I voted for H and said I would like his solo to be No 1. No bias. :D
 
I'm on board with Saap on this.
Don't get me wrong, I am really enjoying this game.
But it has brought into focus the other elements surrounding the solos - the way one launches into another and the great guitar melodies and harmonies that are such Maiden trademarks.

Perhaps our next diversion can be instrumental sections.
Foro? Mosh? NP? :D
 
2016-17 will be the season of the Intense Maiden Analysis Survivors, indeed!

I'm all for instrumental passage, lyric, etc. Maiden survivors, though. It gives me an excuse to take a different approach to Maiden's discography.
