Fight Fire With Fire is brilliant. It's probably my second favourite Metallica opener behind Battery, with that solo at the 3 minute mark being one of my favourites ever.
 
1. Raaaaaaaaaaahhhhhts! Even subpar Dio is awesome, so Clutch get it.
2. Not one of Metallica's biggest stinkers, while Van Halen are gleefully tuneless here, so they can have a big fat vote.
3. Lacklustre Maiden is much harder to forgive than mildly fun Stratovarius
4. Gates of Tomorrow does not deserve to be here imo, while Queensryche are genuinely poor in this case.

It's pretty damn horrible but I already dislike Stratovarius, whereas Weekend Warrior is a horrible song from my favorite band. It makes more sense to vote for it in my case.

Exactly. Weekend Warrior has nothing going for it and the fact that it's by the same band that did great rockers like The Trooper and Wasted Years makes it that much worse.
 
By this ignorant reasoning -namely: its by my favourite band- Weekend Warrior has already won the whole game. Everything is directed at voting for this song every single time no matter how bad its opponent is. The quality is completely disregarded. There are no limits. :nuts2:

Why not spare yourselves some time and have only Maiden songs featured in this game.

Gates of Tomorrow is a Maiden song and it doesn't have a single vote. Maybe Weekend Warrior is just bad enough to make it to the next phase. :p

Nobody is saying that. I'm not going to vote for Weekend Warrior every time. In fact if it was up against any of the other songs I voted for, I probably wouldn't vote for it. But in this particular case, Stratovarius is some lame inoffensive dance metal song that I'll probably forget about in a week while Weekend Warrior is a song I actively dislike by a band I love. Maiden wins.

Why did you ignore Mosh pointing out Gates of Tomorrow? It doesn't have a single vote, Queensryche song is dominating. If you look at most of the posts, you'll see people pointing out that they don't like Gates of Tomorrow but Wot We Do is just too horrible. If people were to follow the logic you think they do, they'd go and vote for Gates of Tomorrow, because "it's a terrible song from their favorite band". But it hasn't happened, not even a single time so far.
 
Wot We Do. Sure, Weekend Warrior is terrible but I can think of a bunch of songs in this game that are worse, Wot We Do being one of them.
 
Wot We Do is Purify levels of horrible. Even Maiden at their very worst with Weekend Warrior isn't that bad.
 
Wot We Do is far worse than Weekend Warrior. I remember there was at least one Metallica stinker in this game, though.
